10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week 33

10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

Welcome to the 10 Things Link Up!!  This week is our thirteenth week since Krysten, from Why Girls Are Weird and I introduced the weekly link up space.  Its purpose is a place where we can all share our posts of 10 things made us happy or 10 things we were/are grateful for this week.  It continues to grow each week, which is awesome and I’m glad that I’ve had so much positive feedback about it.  Sometimes all it takes is gentle reminders of things that make us grateful or appreciative.  I mean, we live in a world full of senseless violence, poverty, famine, and reflecting on the positive, I find, makes me open my eyes a bit more to appreciate the little things… You know?

This week there is a new #10things button that we’ll use for the next couple of months so feel free to swap out the old and bring in the new!

The rules are below (keep reading).  Please remember that this is not a link dump; if it’s not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.

10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

1. Sitting across from a gay couple on the train last Friday evening.  I am so proud to live in a country where people can be free to express themselves and be who they want to be, without judgment (or as much as others face..),  It was so sweet and touching to see their love for one another.

2. Jeff drove 1.5 hours out of his way last Saturday when my ride decided to bail on me.  I’m so grateful for him always willing to drop everything to help me out.

3. The Scandinavian waters/massage/girls weekend up in Collingwood, Ontario last weekend.  Much needed, very relaxing and the hike the next morning was invigorating.  It’s so expensive but it’s so worth it.

Blue Mountain

4. Going to the movies on Tuesday night with my mom and Jeff.  We saw Spectre.

5. Catching Jeff sneak a tiny piece of cheese to the boys and then he caught me staring. He can be so sweet and loving with the boys and that’s one thing that I love about him.

6. More like things that make me laugh: getting my wine buzz on. LOL!

7. More things that made me laugh: setting the oven mitt on fire. I left the element on by accident and put down the silicone oven mitt. Oops. lol

8. Jeff literally took care of dinner, meal prepping, lunches, everything on Wednesday night, which was music to my ears as I was working late and not home until 9 pm.  It was so nice not having to lift a finger after such a long day.  Thank you Jeff.

9. I had a short nap on Thursday after work and it was marvelous!

10. Puppy cuddles.  I love snuggling with my boys, especially when they’re super fluffy after getting groomed. 😉

Bichon Frise Bichon Frise

And those were the 10 things that made me happy this week. 🙂

  • oh look at them all fluffy! You know I can’t resist! Poor oven mitt, so sad.

  • Heather Hammel

It looks like you had a pretty good week. Tonight, Jesse and I are supposed to see Mockingjay Part 2. I ordered the tickets and I’m hoping he gets off of work at his 2nd job in time so that we don’t miss it. My little sister also comes home from college for Thanksgiving break today. So if she decides to not be a brat tomorrow and is home, Jesse and her get to meet. When that happens, I’m also bringing Audrey over so that she can play with my mom’s two English Bulldogs. And then of course my goal is to get all of the trim painted in the dog room and bedroom annnd cleaning.

  • Julie Smith

So nice to come home to a meal and also to take a nap!! Do you groom your pups?? So funny that Jeff sneaks the boys food. Cocoa talks to us until we give her some so if we want peace she gets some 🙂 Have a great weekend!!

  • It must be so much fun to see Jeff sneak food to the boys. I watched my niece give my dog a bit of chicken one day and then she whispered, “Shhh, don’t tell.” It was so cute!

  • Kim Munoz

You sure have found a keeper 🙂 Puppy cuddles make everyone happy! Never trust a person who doesn’t like them! LOL

  • Happy Friday! Love that your husband “sneaks” food to the pups 🙂

  • Hey Hun, happy Friday! 🙂 We both spoil the dogs rotten; he tends to go with the yummy stuff and mommy gives them the healthy, crunchy veggies. Balance, ;-).

    Have a great weekend Hun!

  • Oh I absolutely agree. If my dogs don’t like you, then chances are I probably won’t either. Just saying. Lol!

  • It’s so adorable, Crystal. 🙂
When I met Jeff almost 14 years ago, he didn’t really care for small dogs. And I had grown up with Bichons. Long story short, he fell in love. And I love watching him. It’s just so tender and Sweet. 🙂

  • Julie, hey! 🙂 Nope, I don’t groom the boys, they’re too dramatic with me. Brushing them is enough.. Lol. They’re good with groomers but with mom, they’re little a-holes Lolol!
Aww, I love that Cocoa is vocal. I love dogs that talk. 🙂
Have a great weekend hun! Xo

  • I sneak them the veggies usually and Jeff is the one that gives them the yummier food. 🙂

  • Happy Friday Hun! 😉 I’m heading over to check your blog, I’ve played hookie today and had a lazy day. 🙂

    Have a great weekend! xox

  • The oven mitt sounds like something I’d do LOL. Glad you were ok :). The husband sounds like a keeper ;).

  • Awwwwww, I love this 🙂 And it’s wonderful to see that Jeff has really been picking up slack. It’s funny… there are so many tiny things that I do and sometimes I think “wow, it would be nice if I didn’t have to do this one night” or whatever. From my keyboard to Bryan’s ears (a-hem! LOL).

I would totally set the oven mitt on fire too. Things happen 🙂 Enjoy your weekend, momma! XOXO

  • Puppy cuddles. Always puppy cuddles. Jeff seems to have been extra awesome this week. Go Jeff! I’m a loser and didn’t get my post ready. I am at work and should be working now…I’ve got shit to do!…but I’m taking a quick peek at blogs. Happy weekend friend xoxo

  • Heather Serra

I’m so glad you have a great girls weekend. We all need that from time to time, even if it is expensive. What a tender moment- to catch Jeff sneaking a treat to the fur babies. What a good daddy. Such a great man you got there. You both are damn lucky! 🙂

  • The girls trip sounds like it was a nice getaway!

  • Jessica Hughes

    I love these posts!!!

  • It’s a miracle that I’ve not burned our place down. Lol!!
Have a great weekend girlfriend girl xo

  • It was super appreciated that he did all that after working a shit-ton or hours that day, that was literally the last thing I wanted to be doing when I got home from work. 🙂

TELL Bryan, the biggest challenge I have is asking for help, don’t assume the arse’s know what you want, even if it’s so painfully clear what you want. 🙂

Have a great weekend Hun xoxo

  • Jeff has been great this week, such a big help and I’m so appreciative!!
Hope you have a good weekend woman xoxo

  • They really do make me more grateful and opens my eyes more to more than just the big picture. 🙂

  • That’s great that Jeff has been doing the cooking and meal prep when you’re busy…it can be so helpful!

  • It’s been amazing, especially having worked all day and then 4 extra hours, the last thing I wanted to do was chop and cook!

  • I finally got my 10 things put into the quote post. Sorry so late. Levi came home on Thursday, so the whole last week has been so busy, crazy, good, awesome, stressful, wonderful. You know. Pretty great! xxx

  • I’m off to go read your post in just a moment. As the saying goes, better late than never. 🙂 I knew you’d be busy with having your boy finally home. I’m just so glad he’s home now and the real healing can begin. Xoxo
