10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week 53

10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

 HAPPY 2016!

Welcome to the 10 Things Link Up!!  We are almost six months months deep into this awesome weekly link up that Krysten, from Why Girls Are Weird and I both introduced in late Summer 2015.  Last week and the week of Christmas was quiet, and understandably so!  So start off fresh for the New Year, and on the right foot, let’s spread some happiness and gratitude, and encourage others to share their happy/grateful things and link up, too.!  The purpose of this weekly Friday space is where we can all share our posts of 10 things made us happy or 10 things we were/are grateful for this week.

It continues to grow each week, which is awesome and I’m glad that I’ve had so much positive feedback about it. Sometimes all it takes is gentle reminders of things that make us grateful or appreciative. I mean, we live in a world full of senseless violence, poverty, famine, and tragedy – reflecting on the positive, I find, makes me open my eyes a bit more to appreciate the little things… Don’t you agree?

We switched things up a few weeks ago with a new #10things button that we’ll be using for the next while, so feel free to swap out the old (if you haven’t already) and bring in the new!

The rules are below (keep reading). Please remember that this is not a link dump; if it’s not an appropriate link, it will be deleted. I suspect next Friday things will be more active and we’ll be back more into the swing of things.

10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

1. Having my mom there for us, to look after the dogs when we so frequently need her.  She’s the best!

2. Range time with my love and my father in law.

3. Watching the UFC fight with Jeff .

4. Finally having Christmas with my mom and step-dad.  They’re finally well and wanted to celebrate last Saturday night after we got home from up north, so we went over for dinner, gifts and of course, to be reunited with our fluffs.

5. Reuniting with our boys.  Do I really need to explain how and why this makes me happy?! 🙂

 6. Having my friend at work back from her maternity leave.  I’ve missed her and it hasn’t been the same since she left back in May.

7. Falling asleep with both boys in my arms #heaven #dogsmakelifebetter

8. Looking ahead to the weekend – it’s my pet sitting weekend but it’s actually kind of a quiet one and I’m looking forward to it.

9. Longer days of sunlight.  It makes such a difference, doesn’t it?  I think it does.  #ilovesunshine

10. Getting back on track and STRICT with our paleo diet again (we started this again this week and I’ll document more in the future).

And those were the 10 things that made me happy this week. 🙂

I’ll be back on Monday or Tuesday with my recap Weekend Adventures in Pet Sitting and Dog Walking!

Again, Happy New Years to you all and my very best wishes for 2016! I hope it is a great one!!

Have a fabulous weekend my friends!! xox

Falling asleep with the dogs in your arms or snuggled up against you is the best!

  • Those are some wonderful things to be happy about! Reuniting with your pets is always the best! And so glad to hear about your parents! Happy that your week was so wonderful hun! Happy weekend! xxx

  • Happy New Year to you and your man, girl! It has been a good week, but LONG. I’m exhausted. Maybe this exhausted feeling is from all the holiday hoopla. I just want to sleep. I think it’s the winter weather, too.
Have a wonderful weekend my friend, and always a pleasure seeing you around my neck of the woods. 😉 xo

  • I don’t know what I’d do without her; she’s just so important to me. <3

Have a wonderful weekend Christina, xo! 🙂

  • It’s the best feeling – falling asleep with your heart full to the brim. Life doesn’t get much better than that. <3
Have a great weekend my friend! xox

  • I was so happy to come home to Charlie and Baxter last Saturday. There’s just SUCH a void when they’re not around and my eyes play tricks on me, thinking I see a fluff in my peripheral vision but it’s just me wishful thinking. Thankfully Jeff’s parents have a dog to tie us over, but it isn’t the same. She’s not our boys, you know?
I hope you’ve had a great Friday and enjoy your weekend with the fam jam love! xoxox

  • I’m so with you on the sunlight!

  • Shann Eva

Those puppies are adorable. I’d love to be reunited with them too. Sounds like a great week. Can’t wait to read more about your Paleo diet too.

  • Julie Smith

Longer days. YES!! I love the sun. I feel SO much better about life!! Focusing on the positive is so important. And falling asleep with pups in your arms is the absolute best thing ever!!

  • Good for you for kicking off the new year with a bang (see what I did there??). LOL, anyway congrats on going full steam ahead with your paleo diet and can’t wait to see what’s in store for you this year… and I can never get enough cute pup pictures 🙂 Hope you enjoyed the first week of 2016!

  • Aww your doggies are cutie!! I’m loving that it’s a little bit lighter out!! =)

I hope you have a great weekend pet sitting!!

  • I love when my dogs are my bookends when I am going to sleep!

  • I miss my free dog sitters in MD. Free because we exchanged services. I wish I could find someone here in CHS, butttt, it’s not lookin’ so hot, lol.

  • Falling asleep with a dog is the best… more than one is even better!

  • Bethany Magnie

    Happy Friday gorgeous!!

  • Carol Kovach Bray

I used to do a gratitude journal for many years and somewhere along the way I quit doing it. It’s amazing what we can be so grateful, even on the worse of worst days. Great post.

  • Right?! It makes a huge difference. At least we’re over the hump and it’s brighter days on the horizon. 🙂

  • They are the BEST snugglers and perfect company, especially when you’re sick.
Thanks, I need to get more creative and adventurous in terms of recipes. We eat a lot of the same foods, but thankfully it’s never boring or tasteless… More to come.
Have a great weekend love xox

  • I know I’ve missed too many of these, but I need to get back into the mix. I still love reading what’s made you happy, my friend XO

  • From one pup lover to another! I get how your life is grounded when you are back with your dogs. And so good that you take the time to remind yourself of your ‘happys’ each week. Makes such a difference in your outtook.

  • I love posts about being grateful. Dogs really do make life better. I love my little fuzzball, but he’s not that little. I’m grateful for him this week. He’s been so snuggly. 🙂

  • Carrie Lynn Ingles Groneman

Great reminder and example of ways to be happy and to look for the good in our life. Thank you for this great read.

  • TheMummyToolbox

it’s a really great idea to take stock of what makes you happy 🙂 makes you a really positive person! I think the extra daylight helps so you’re definitely right there!

  • Rebecca

I agree with the extra daylight too, it’s only half an hour or so but it really makes a difference doesn’t it? x

  • Bliss, right?! All of it! Life is better with dogs for sure, and sunshine. <3
Have a great weekend Julie, I'm working but it's a quiet weekend… And I'm actually enjoying it. 🙂 take care xo

  • Charlotte you are SO funny! Mwahaha!
I feel fluffy again from eating crap all December :-/ so I gotta get back on track, it’s where I feel best.
I hope you’re having a nice, relaxing weekend love. xoxo

  • aw, thanks Hun. 🙂

It’s a quiet weekend with not too many visits, but it’s kinda nice to slow weekend once in awhile. They’re pretty infrequent. Hope you’re enjoying yours Hun xo

  • Me too, it’s so comforting.

  • Well that’s a shame! Free anything is the shizzle. 🙂

  • Dogs falling asleep, curled up and cozy makes for a wonderful winter evening. My dachshund, burrows under the covers so curling up with her means I get pretty warm, pretty fast. Her favorite place to sleep. And moms, well, we rock!

  • It’s THE best! 🙂 Hope you’re enjoying your weekend with Mina 😉

  • Happy weekend love! xo

  • I find it definitely helps my moods and my outlook, and if I’m benefitting, why not, right? 🙂

  • I have a friend from work off on maternity leave and it’s killing me. I just want her back already!

  • My friend wasn’t gone a full twelve month but it sure felt that long. It’s so nice to have her back. I hope the time passes for you quickly. 🙂

  • Hindy Pearson

Hi Lindsay, what a nice post! I love that you write about what you’re grateful for, and expressing how important the people in your life are – appreciating and cherishing them. It’s a beautiful thing and probably something many of us could learn to do more of.

  • Hindy, welcome!
It just makes me feel better acknowledging what I’m grateful or happy for, big or small. 🙂 Helps me stay positive, you know?

  • Girl, sorry I’m so behind, came by to get my dose of goodness! I love that there are 5 little furry white babies at your moms when she has the boys, they have to love it! Glad your friend is back at work, that always makes the work day a bit better. Hope this week was as good as the last! xoxoxo

  • Just look at them all….. This photo is a rarity, only simply because they ALL try to sit on her at once. Let’s just say that mom never gets lonely. HAHA!
I hope you have a great week love! xox

  • This is awesome!!! Not sure I’d fit, but I’m game!!!
