10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week 34

Happy Friday and Welcome to the 10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week Link Up!!

Each Friday, Krysten from Why Girls Are Weird Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog and I host a link up where we reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically in the last week.

Sometimes all it takes is gentle reminders of things that make us grateful or appreciative. We live in a world full of disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – reflecting on the positive, I personally find makes me more aware and appreciative of the little things.

Don’t you agree?

When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it’s not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.

10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

  1. Picking out flowers last weekend for my Mom for Mother’s Day.
  2. Lots of cleaning and organizing was accomplished and that always makes me feel great!
  3. I got the new Influenster L’Oreal voxbox early last week and have been enjoying trying those products out.L'Oreal Voxbox
  4. Enjoying some downtime with Jeff.
  5. Getting out driving in the car.   Finally.
  6. Seeing my mother in law last Sunday.  That made my week.
  7. A happy reunion with the dogs after coming home from Nana’s house (my mom’s).   Such sleepy boys when they return from her house.

  8. Looking forward to our long weekend to Ottawa.  We’ve had this weekend planned for months now and hopefully it’ll be a great weekend.
  9. Getting such generous comments at the gym from some ladies in the CX class.  It was humbling. 🙂
  10. We’ve had a beautiful week of nice temperatures and plenty of sunshine and for that, I am grateful.

– – – – –

My hubby and I are away for a nice long weekend in Ottawa, the capital of Canada.  We left last night and today we are being tourists, while Saturday and Sunday is a shooting match, which I’m hoping that the rain gods stay away and it doesn’t end up raining both bloody days.  It rained and stormed last August and it was just nasty.

What have YOU got on the agenda this weekend?  Make sure it’s a good one, my friends. xo

Want to hop in on the fun?

  • Those L’Oreal products look amazing! What a great box! And finally driving! Yay! Enjoy your long weekend! Hugs xxx

  • I have some work to do this weekend (blog and my second job) but I’m going to kick it off with a party at my hot yoga studio tonight and finally pulling my garden together!

  • Happy Friday!! Hope your weekend is great. Hopefully your nice sun is heading my way soon. We’ve had a week of rain!

  • Have a great weekend! I will send anti-rain vibes too. That Influenster box looks awesome! And so great that you are driving again.

  • kim airhart

What is Influenster L’Oreal voxbox? I am obsessed with makeup. Great list!!

  • “Hey Etch, DRAW!!”
    Yep, Toy Story quoted you.
Good luck this weekend and I hope the weather stays nice!

  • We’ve had a ton of rain this week, which I have loved because rain makes me happy, so if you get any rain this weekend just tell it to come to me. 😉

  • That’s a sweet voxbox!

    Enjoy your weekend away!

  • Have a great weekend Lindsay in Ottawa. Hugs to the cuties.

  • It is always fun to just be the tourest. When you have a business you can take with you, it makes it fun to just enjoy.

  • Sounds like a great week!! That voxbox looks amazing! Love trying out new products!

  • Awww, sounds like you have a great weekend planned and I can’t wait to hear all about it! Have so much fun this weekend. I love being a tourist, too 🙂 Ain’t nothing wrong with walking around, trying to grab some good grub in a city you’re exploring for the first time or seeing for the millionth. Can’t wait to hear about your trip when you’re back. Sending much love and sunshine, my sweet.

  • Hurray for sun! Today’s our first day of sun after a week of rain. Hallelujah! And lucky you on that box of cosmetics. Look like a lot of fun!

  • Julie Smith

Hope you are having an awesome weekend!! I need to get to blog reading and commenting. Sleepy pups are the best. Cocoa has had so much energy the last few days. I can tire her out with runs but then I am exhausted!!

  • I was amazed how many goodies were in the VoxBox. And I’ve been wanting to try the palette but recently said screw it and splurged on a UD Naked palette instead.
I hope you had a great weekend! We had very England-esque weather today so we’re just thawing out and warming up on the car drive home.

  • How was your yoga studio par-tay? And we’re you able to get your garden done or at least strategized what you’re doing with your garden?

  • How was your weekend Hun? We had the opposite weather last week. All week long it was sunny and then this past weekend it dipped to 0 degrees freezing (lol) and rained like you wouldn’t believe. I hope you had a great one! 🙂

  • I’m so happy to be out driving. But dang, stick is hard. Automatic is such a luxury compared to driving manual.
Weather was rain, rain, rain, and then a tiny bit of snow. May is a sketchy month for weather yet Canadians for some reason as soon as it gets nice, they think summer is here but up until June, we can get a myriad of weather BS. Looks like today will be nice and sunny. Perfect to look at through my office window as I work away. Lol!

  • Go to: https://www.influenster.com and sign up. There’s an app as well. You can do reviews, complete surveys and based on your points and reviews and all that stuff, you get selected for these boxes of goodies in exchange for reviewing them. It’s really awesome! I think Americans get way more opportunities compared to us Canadians, as this was only just my second VoxBox of goodies and I’ve joined just over a year ago.
Check it out, you’ll love it! 🙂

  • Hahah! Nice! It was pretty funny, we tried to do a mental head count of all the firearms that were in our one hotel with just a few of the competitors out of a 117 in total and it was pretty alarming.
I hope you had a good one and got some house stuff knocked off your ever-long, always growing to-do list. 🙂

  • I like to fall asleep to rain or walking home in the rain. It’s refreshing. We had rain from Saturday afternoon to Sunday, tons of black flies and mosquitoes AND a bit of flurries Sunday morning. Such sketchy weather. Lol. But it could’ve been worse.

  • Thanks girl, I hope you had a good one! 🙂

  • Thank you Mary, was a nice little getaway. I’m glad we took an extra day to sightsee or it would be been too rushed with just Saturday and Sunday.
Have a great week, Mary. Xo

  • I would imagine it is indeed nice when you have your own business but in sure it presents itself its own challenges. Someday I’ll be my own boss, but until then…
    Have a great week, Sandy.

  • I do too, and it totally blew me away just how many products were in the box, I felt spoiled. 🙂
I hope you had a good weekend Hun!!

  • Apart from the rain and chill we both got, it was still a nice little getaway. We’re glad we took Friday to explore and work/compete both Saturday and Sunday but man, what long days. We got in last night at 1230. Bed by 1, up at 515. Sooo tired. Got some good pictures of the capital and parliament Friday, which I’ll post today or tomorrow. 🙂 I hope your weekend was good, love. 🙂 xoxo

  • You sound like Chicago’s weather last week. We had sunshine all week and then yesterday, we had a few flurries. May is such a sketchy month for weather here. And naturally, it’s sunny and looks like it’ll be a great day today. Perfect for a work day! Lol!
    Have a great week Hun!

  • You’ve been awfully quiet girl, I hope all is okay with you, you’re just busy wrangling Miss Cocoa. 😉
You should tire her out and then nap together. That sounds like heaven. 🙂

  • It was just as cold here! (though for a second I forgot about the conversion and thought you were talking about F and not C haha)

  • Cathy C Bennett

No matter what happens during the day, coming home to dogs is the absolute best isn’t it? Have a great week (I’m so behind with catching up on blogs – forgive me!)

  • It felt a lot like damp, chilled to the bone, Fall.
Sorry, I have to google conversions all the time. I don’t know Fahrenheit at all.

  • It is, hands down, my favorite and highlight of my day. I get toothy smiles from both boys, I love it. They make all the stress and BS just melt away.
    Not to worry, Cathy. 😉

  • I hope you are having fun in Ottawa!! 🙂 I might pick your brain if we ever head to Canada to explore!

  • It was far too short of a trip. Friday was spent being a tourist and then Saturday and Sunday were outdoors at a shooting range competing all weekend.
Let me know and I can certainly try to help if you ever come up to my neck of the woods. 😉
