10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week 14

Happy Friday and Welcome to the 10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week Link Up!!

Each Friday, Krysten from Why Girls Are Weird Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog and I host a link up where we reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically in the last week.

Sometimes all it takes is gentle reminders of things that make us grateful or appreciative. We live in a world full of disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – reflecting on the positive, I personally find makes me more aware and appreciative of the little things.

Don’t you agree?

When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it’s not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.

10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

1. A nice afternoon out for lunch (and a whole sh*tload of sangria) with my love.

sangria

2. Completing a 50 km charity bike ride last Sunday with Jeff. It was a great experience and I’m grateful to all those that supported us.

3. Coffee and sweaters. We had awesome summer weather last week, but this week has been chilly and has felt much like fall. #notcool #imalwayscold #imareptile

4. My group therapy portion of the year-long therapy program I’m in is coming to an end and I can definitely see that I’ve learned new things about myself and tools… and I’m trying to slowly change the way I do, react and behave. It’s all positive change even if it is slow.

4. Getting the all clear from physio that my neck is good, there’s nothing left they can do for me so I’m to continue building strength.

5. Quiet and solitude.

6. Waking up and seeing that Baxter had poured himself into the space behind my legs. It is so comforting!

7. Below Deck: Mediterranean.

8. Fresh Avocado. So delish.

9. Jeff and I spent a sick day together and I was grateful for the extra time together before he took off for the weekend last night.

10. These:

Aren’t they just gorgeous?

Jeff is away up north doing a gun course that he’s been itching to do for a long time, meanwhile I’m back at home with the pups, relaxing, cleaning and running some errands.  It should be a nice and quiet one.

What have YOU got on the agenda this weekend?  Make sure it’s a good one, my friends. xo

Such beautiful flowers! That day you had the sangria sounded like so much fun. It’s actually been pretty cold here too. Not sure if we’ll ever have summer…since we missed spring weather completely. I’m finishing my Whole30 today, and then we’re going out to celebrate my son’s kindergarten graduation, so there may be some wine involved 🙂 Have a nice, relaxing weekend!

  • Love your list–and those flowers are gorgeous 🙂 <3

I am always cold, too. I want to open the windows to let in some fresh air but it's low 60s and I already have a sweater on, lol.

About to make me an avocado mash toast. SO yums. It always amazes me that something so simple can taste so delicious. Hope you have a great weekend, my sweet!

  • The flowers are so pretty!! Hope your weekend warms up (our week has been cold too)! Supposedly we’re going to hit 95 tomorrow… such an odd spike of heat.

Sangria sounds so good right about now. Yum!
I’d swim in it with a snorkel and use the snorkel as a straw.
    I’m classy like that.
Quiet and solitude is the absolute best. I’m a total introvert so ummm…like I said…it’s the best.
And you did a million km on your bike? Can you feel your ass?
    That’s amazing. Really. I couldn’t do it.

  • Jessica Hughes

Congrats on completing the bike ride! That is an awesome accomplishment

  • I had a blast last Saturday. I’ll have to do that more often, I just love sitting on a patio on a nice, warm and sunny day.

ENJOY your meal out, you deserve it. Close your eyes and savor all the goodness and yumminess.

Have a wonderful weekend Hun! 😉
    Xo!

  • Thanks girl! And I picked out even prettier flowers from my mom’s garden over the weekend. Her peonies are blooming and just beautiful!!

It was chilly throughout the weekend up my way and I’m like you, a bit of breeze or coolness, out come the sweaters and blankets!!

    Mmmm avocado. Delish!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend love!!
    XOXOX

  • Hey girl!
I hope it warmed up down in Chi-town. I had windows open all weekend, it was so cool and terribly windy. Saturday was sunny and gorgeous but it definitely could’ve been a bit warmer. Oh well.

Have a fab week girlfriend!! 🙂

    Xo

  • Thanks Jessica. Seems like a long journey at the time but it is possible, anything is if you put your mind to it.

Have a great week Momma! Xo

  • I would like a sangria IV drip please and thanks!!
I’m an introvert too (and only child and shy too) so weekends alone I crave and love every single second. I miss my hubby’s company but I need to be alone every few weeks or I go bat shit crazy. 😉

My ass hurt! Why are bike seats so ridiculous?! Id like to tape a couch cushion to my seat but then I’d look like a Fkn moron. A PRACTICAL moron. Lolol!

I hope you have a great Monday babe! Xo

  • Woohoo for everything…boring I know. Love fresh avocados, love love love. And Sangria too. This reminds me, I’m having avocado tonight in our salad…yup. No Sangria though. 🙁 Hahahaha

  • This just reminds me I need to eat more avocado. It’s so delicious but I could definitely do with more. Mmmm. I bet your salad was delish! 🙂 xo

  • Keri Roberts

Love your gratitude list!! Glad your neck is all good. Quiet and solitude are the best. Those flowers are gorgeous!!

  • Why thank you, Keri. 🙂 I’m glad my neck is in better shape; makes life so much better not being restricted from doing certain activities, especially at the gym.
