Happy Friday and Welcome to the 10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week Link Up!!

Each Friday, Krysten from Why Girls Are Weird Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog and I host a link up where we reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically in the last week.

Sometimes all it takes is gentle reminders of things that make us grateful or appreciative. We live in a world full of disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – reflecting on the positive, I personally find makes me more aware and appreciative of the little things.

Don’t you agree?

When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it’s not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.

10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week

1. Some quiet time to myself.  Being an only child, I love being by myself.

2. Cutting fresh peonies from my mom’s backyard.  And then waking up to such a beautiful aroma first thing in the morning.  #bliss

3. Spending an afternoon with my momma.

4. Cantaloupe and vanilla ice cream.  It is such a refreshing combination in the warm weather.

5. Crying with laughter going through Snapchat filters with Jeffy.  Lol!  Man, there are some good blackmail photos on Jeff’s phone now.  If you have snapchat, add me: theflynnigans6288

Here’s a sampler of a solo snapchat selfie

6.  Getting back to BodyPump.  It was about 3 months since I had been to a class, one reason was the car accident and following whip lash, but I going to BP classes because my friend Liane quit teaching them, that and my legs were getting like tree trunks.  I’ve noticed a lot of back strength lost so now that I’m completed physiotherapy, I’m going to be adding back in one BP class a week.

7. Friends that I can be real with that get me yet don’t ask me to change or be someone I’m not.

8. The boys had their annual Vet visit this past week and we have good news to report! Both of the boys are doing great! Both of Charlie’s knees are in good shape and Baxter is in excellent shape – he is “a sturdy, solid boy”. He was none too happy about the needles he received but he did give the gentlest kiss to the vet when she was done. I guess he forgave her. 🙂

9. Stretching and rolling out on a foam roller = heaven for my sore quads and hamstrings.  My muscles have been so sore this week and it is like music to my ears when I stretch/roll it out.

10. Going for a bike ride at dusk with Jeff and a friend we haven’t seen in a while.  It was nice to catch up with him.

We haven’t got too much going on this weekend… Saturday we have to head down to Toronto to a dive shop to get our scuba regs serviced, as well as I have to pick up some new booties and fins and Jeff has to pick up a new mask (aka, it’s going to be an expensive weekend).  Sunday we are taking out my step dad for a nice lunch.

Real friends are the best! And I’m so glad to hear the boys are doing great. Tigger and Audrey’s annuals are next month.

  • I love iced coffees to celebrate that it’s Friday! (also picked up from Starbucks) 🙂

  • The snapchat filters are too funny! I’ve done the same thing but on a friends phone… probably not a great idea haha

  • OMG the snapchat filters are so cute, but I still haven’t that gotten that far. I loved your red flower that you sent me the other day 🙂 Adorable.

I can’t get the Starbucks linky to work 🙁 But I love any kind of coffee, really, I’m not picky. I could do some serious damage with a SB gift card 🙂 Happy weekend to you and hope you have a good, quiet, mellow one. Also CONGRATS! I love to hear that the boys are in great medical shape 🙂 XO

Girlfriend – you just made my day. First I loved looking at the flowers, then I chuckled when I saw your snapchat face (you should totally make that your FB profile photo for a while – ) then I hollered when I saw the $100 give away. You know Starbucks revs my engine every morning. Thank you – even if I don’t win, just the thought makes me giddy!

  • Amen to the friends and loved ones who “get” you. Those people are your tribe!

This weekend… I am in West Virginia visiting my folks. Have nothing major on the agenda, except making the rounds to visit my aunt and uncle, my other uncle, and my grandparents. My favorite thing to do while I’m home in West Virginia is to sit outside with my folks and just enjoy their company. Have a good weekend yourself!

I love this whole post. Its so important to have friends that really get you. Yay for healthy dogs and time with mom. And Snapchat is the best 🙂

  • Cat

Loved your link-up! It was always nice to reflect back & think about what we appreciate in life 🙂

  • I always end up heading to the vets all weary and apprehensive, thinking the worst. So I’m glad it was all good news. 🙂

Have a wonderful week babe! Xo

  • I enjoyed so many iced coffees this weekend – it was too hot to drink hot coffee so iced was more enjoyable. I hope you were able to enjoy some down time to rest and relax this weekend Hun. Xo

  • I’m so easily amused, as you can see. That and snapchat is still new and a novelty so I often find myself down a rabbit hole when I turn the app on. Befor I know it and 45 minutes has gone by and I’ve just created 67 more pictures and videos. Lol.
I hope you had a nice weekend Hun! Xo

  • I honestly learn something new about SC every single time I’m playing around on it. That and Google is my friend for figuring it all out.
Try to Starbucks linky again, I got it to work and many others entered over the weekend.
It was wicked hot this entire weekend so I definitely enjoyed my share of iced coffee. I hope you had a nice time out at your parents (and got to lay in the hammock – loooooove those things, they’re so relaxing….).
I hope you have a wonderful week lovey. Xo

  • The cat Snapchat filter is pretty awesome isn’t it? I like the cat eyes. 🙂
Girl, I am crossing my fingers and toes and everything you win that Starbucks card. Heck, I wish I could win it too!!
Cheers to a fabulous week my friend! Xo

  • Hey girl, I hope you ended up having a really nice (and relaxing) weekend away in West Virginia. Sounds like it was going to be a good one visiting with lots of family. 🙂

Have a great week Hun. Xo

  • Cheers to it all, right? I was thinking of you and the pool all weekend. It was a scorcher here!
Hope you’re doing well love. Xo

  • Thanks girl. Feel free to join us and link up anytime. 😉
I hope you have a wonderful week my friend. Xo

  • Got Starbucks linky to work — thank you! Weekend was very good, relaxing and got to spend time with Bryan’s family/my parents. My dad loves his hammock; now I hope he actually uses it but he promised he would. I’m just proud that I was able to get the thing together with my mom (my mom figured out most of it though). 🙂

XOXO and hope you have a great week, sweetpea!

  • A dusk bike ride sounds lovely!

    My mom grows peonies too.

  • Lol! Your comment made me chuckle – see what would we do without or moms?! If I had put that hammock together, your father would be lying on the grass right now. Reading directions and building things aren’t my forte. Lol!!

Glad you got the giveaway to work for you.

You have a good week as well my dear. Xo!

  • Once I’m home from work, I rarely feel like leaving again but I must admit, the ride was nice and this time of year, the sky is just incredible and I’m always down for some beauty in the firm of sunsets.

Does she? I was hoping to get more from my mom this weekend but they all wilted overnight just like that. Oh well. They’re so pretty but wilt instantly.
