10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week 26

Happy Friday and Welcome to the ’10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week’ Link Up!!

Each Friday, Krysten from Why Girls Are Weird, Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog and I host a link up where we reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically in the last week.

Sometimes all it takes is gentle reminders of things that make us grateful or appreciative. We live in a world full of disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – reflecting on the positive, I personally find makes me more aware and appreciative of the little things.

Don’t you agree?

When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.

I have plenty of things I’m happy and/or grateful for these last two weeks and they are:

1. Going out to the horse track for an afternoon with the family in Barbados. I really enjoyed myself more than I had thought and it was a fun day out.

2. SUP (stand up paddle boarding). So much fun!! I had never tried it before and loved it. My momma and I went on Sunday the 11th.

3. Diving. Words can’t describe how incredible and special it is to be able to go to the depths … Many never get to see what’s below the surface and I always feel blessed when I’m able to see and experience that.

4. Holding hands with Jeff when we ascend diving and doing our safety stops. It’s cute. 🙂

5. Meeting new people on vacation.

6. Playing with and petting a 10 month old green monkey named Bruce. He was so, so sweet.

7. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean.

8. Hiking around the island and despite visiting 8 times (only) we always manage to find new places to explore.

9. Having the opportunity to see some of the horses from the race track head down to the ocean for a swim at dawn. It was incredibly beautiful, peaceful and fun to see.

10. All of the places we ate down in Barbados. So much good food!!

11. Catamarans. They’re just awesome!!

12. Early mornings listening to the waves crash along the beach. It’s so relaxing.

13. The sounds of the birds chirping down south. It’s one of the things that I always think of when Barbados comes up.
14. And just some of the pretty flowers on the island. Aren’t they gorgeous?

15. Hanging out with dive friends.

16. Catching up on some reading while I was away. I always crush books on holidays.

17. The happy, HAPPY homecoming when we arrived back home and saw the dogs. I dread when vacation is over like the rest of us, but the one thing I most look forward to is reuniting with the my fur babies. 💗

18. Taking a day yesterday to sleep, do some grocery shopping and acclimating to regular life and sleeping (I couldn’t sleep when we got home Aednesday night.) I always say I should always book a day on the end of my vacations to get my ish together, but I never do. So this time, I did.

19. This picture: it’s got the most likes I’ve ever ever had for a pic on IG.

20. A clean house (thanks Alex!), fresh flowers and unpacked … Generally feeling good where life has currently brought me and us. #lifeisgood

21. While laying on the living room floor looking over my weekend schedule, Charles, out of nowhere, comes and flops down on my papers and it was a great time to be interrupted for some puppy love. <3

I’m working this weekend (pet visits) but I’m working on some Barbados posts to share. I took over 1400 pictures on my camera, not counting what was taken on the GoPro.

What have you got planned for the weekend?  I really hope you have a fantastic weekend whatever it is you end up getting up to! Xo

Can’t wait to see more pics. Those you’ve shown are breath taking. Looks like an incredible vacation.

  • Oh my gosh the horses in the ocean! Looove that! I hate seeing vacation end, but can totally relate to the puppy reunions being amazing!!

  • Kim Munoz

I love everything about this post! Seriously so jealous of all the water and waves. Beautiful! But Im glad you are back with your babies 🙂

  • I had so much fun following your trip on Snapchat! It looks like you two had a wonderful time! 🙂

  • Zaira Moran

Great post! I also love SUP and a clean house

  • I’m so glad to see you had a great time. The pictures are stunning and the water looks so refreshing. I too take every opportunity to fall asleep to the sound of the waves.

  • Thanks Ericka! It was. 🙂

  • Thanks Penny, I hope to get something out later this week.

  • It was such an amazing trip! Thanks so much for following along. I want to go back! Coming back to reality has been so difficult!

  • I had so much fun paddle boarding, and so did my mom, so much so that she wants to do it on her own when she goes back to Barbados. 🙂

  • I saw you viewed a lot of my snaps on there. Thanks for following along! 🙂 Had such a great time but coming back to reality was real, real rough. I want to go back to island time!!!

  • Hate to be back/glad to be back. It’s a catch 22. But so glad to be back with the boys. 🙂

  • It was so awesome to see the horses. There was one that pawed at the water like he was going to dig and then all of a sudden, FLOPS down. It reminded me of the dogs. 🙂
More pics to follow when I get time. Whenever the hell that is.
    Hope you’re doing well hun!

  • Thanks my dear. Can’t wait to share more; I’m just now sifting through all the pictures. I took almost 1,200, not including the GoPro (Although Jeff used it more and for diving mostly).
Take me backkkkk! Coming back to the real world has been really tough.
How are the fur kids? Trying to stay cool in this oven-hot summer??

  • Abso-frickin-lately. Does your man dive? Or has he ever?

Diving truly, truly is my happy place. It’s like time stands still, I have to remind myself to breathe because my breath is just literally taken away. It’s just… so peaceful. Gah! <3

  • Such an amazing trip!! You should try it, it’s fun and once you get over the initial wobbly knees, you’re golden. 😉

  • That’s the only thing that was awesome about coming back. It’s been really tough coming back, I’m quite depressed about this work thing. :-/ I’ll have to hold on to those memories until my next trip.

  • Hey babes, Can you swim? If so, paddle boarding you’ve got nothing to worry about. You get a lesson and if you fall, it’s more your own ego. 😉

The reunion with the boys was awesome. 🙂 They’re so lovey dovey!! <3

  • Uhm. I can’t actually. Isn’t that embarrassing? I went to my friend’s pool party over the weekend and didn’t even get in the water. I told the kids I was allergic to water and they looked at me like I was an alien. It’s definitely a fear I need to conquer one of these days.

Awww, I bet! Hope all is well with you; you’ve been missed! XOXO

  • Nothing wrong with that love. A lot of adults can’t swim, it’s much more than what I previously thought actually. You’re never too old to learn tho. 😉
