10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week 20

Happy Friday and Welcome to the ’10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week’ Link Up!!

Each Friday, Krysten from Why Girls Are Weird, Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog and I host a link up where we reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically in the last week.

Sometimes all it takes is gentle reminders of things that make us grateful or appreciative. We live in a world full of disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – reflecting on the positive, I personally find makes me more aware and appreciative of the little things.

Don’t you agree?

When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.

I have plenty of things I’m happy and/or grateful for and they are:

1. Chatting with friends on slow/quiet days at work and catching up on each other’s holidays.

2. And adding to that, friends that are totally on the same page.  It’s a beautiful thing.

3. Having long, honest conversations with my love about where we see our future and just exactly what that looks like.

4. Toast. And jam. And smoothies.

5. Long weekends and more time with family to lounge and enjoy life.

6. Dog baths.  I love a clean smelling pooch that I just want to squish my face into.

7. New shades.  I realized while down south that my previous ones were scratched to all hell so I made a mental note to replace them after I got home.

8. LOVE my new ‘harbor blue’ Lululemon crops.  Buuuuuuuuuut, after wearing them for less than an hour, one of the seams decided to start fraying and bad, so I went back to work, changed and marched over to Lulu and expressed my disappointment, that no I didn’t want them fixed, I wanted a brand new pair because, hello, I had bought them less than 24 hours previous to that.  After searching all stores, I have the last pair in my size being shipped to me.  Any more seams that go awry, forget it.  Money back please.  I love, love, love Lululemon but their quality has diminished since their IPO.  They are VERY good, though, I must say, in terms of the customer service.  They’d better, given the price tag of their gear.

9. Teamwork.  Doing just about anything as a team is always good in my books.  My advice: don’t expect people to read your mind.  Speak your needs and wants.

10.  I am so glad that Sara from Stranded in Chaos has opened her eyes and has begun her recovery, albeit a long one, I’m sure.  Sara gave birth to her fourth child this week and had an amniotic fluid embolism.  They kept her in a medically induced coma until Wednesday and that morning, she began to awake.  Many of you also know Sara and have been rallying for her and it has just been so heartwarming to see a community of people come together in such a difficult time.

Bonus:  11. Getting showered with kisses from the boys when I get home, as though I’ve been gone for YEARS.  It never gets old and I never want it to stop.

Bonus:  12. Looking ahead to Saturday night when I get to have a sleep over visit at my favorite farm house.  There’s half a dozen dogs, cats and a barn full of chickens.  It’s been 10 months since I’ve seen them and boy do I miss them, especially this boy:

Great Dane

We’re just hanging around town this weekend.  We might meet up with my friend Tara and her husband but not 100% certain at this point as she has some family stuff going on right now.  I’ve got  two cats I’ve been looking after for the last week, with just day visits and then on Saturday evening, I’m heading over to my favorite fine to look after a menagerie of dogs, cats and chickens.  I can’t wait to see them all again, it’s been far too long.

What have YOU got planned for the weekend?  I really hope you have a fantastic weekend whatever it is you end up getting up to! Xo

That’s sooo scary about Sara! Thank God she is doing better and recovering.
Our dogs really need baths, or at least to be brushed. We seriously need to clean the house this weekend and do a little wedding planning though, so baths are going to have to wait. Hopefully I can squeeze in a quick brushing though.

I have a couple clients coming over to shop on Saturday, but that’s all that’s planned! (I have an online/in-home fashion resale boutique and fashion blog.) I hope your friend makes a full recovery!

  • Glad you had good customer service when you had to exchange the pants! Long weekends are good, too! 🙂

  • Toast is seriously one of my greatest pleasures in life.

I’m going back to my hometown for the annual picnic. Can’t wait to see some friends and hang out with my family!

  • I love smoothies too! 🙂 As much as I’ve loved traveling back to IL the past 2 weekends to see friends and family, I’m looking forward to a weekend (mostly) by myself to relax and catch up and hopefully also get ahead. 😉

  • I’m so glad that Sara is feeling better 🙁 How incredibly scary for her entire family, but my goodness… what a little trooper she is. I’ll be keeping her in my thoughts/prayers until she’s out of the hospital.

Also I’m the same for toast. It makes me so happy… especially when cheese is involved 🙂

I love all of your doggie pictures. So cute. XOXO and hope you have a wonderful weekend, my friend.

  • I love the quote that you posted! And smoothies of course. Hope you have an amazing weekend! Happy Friday!

  • I know eh? I’m glad she’s doing much, much better than she was. Apparently there’s damage to her pituitary gland, which is normal for people that have amniotic sac embolisms, I just hope she doesn’t have long term effects that is going to make her life hell or raising her children more difficult, you know?
You need to get your man to get some dog baths going on. Every single picture you post of Gary cracks me up, even the random howling. I’m sure it’s annoying on your end but damn, he sounds like quite the character. 🙂

  • That sounds so fun, I’ll have to check out your website. I hope you had a wonderful weekend, Tiffany. 🙂

  • Thanks girl. that’s one of the reasons I still shop at Lululemon. They stand behind their product 100% and for the amount of money I spend in that store, they’d better. lol.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! 🙂

  • My problem is that I have zero self control so when there’s bread in the house, I eat the whole flippin loaf and end up feeling like Fat Albert. Ugh…. lol

  • By the sounds of it, it looked like a great weekend! P.S. Is it Friday again, yet?! 🙂

  • There’s something alluring about a weekend to yourself; it’s rejuvenating and recharges the batteries, I think. 🙂
Cheers to a fab week ahead girl!

  • Sara amazes me every day. She’s got such a strong spirits and she strikes me as a real tough woman, she can do anything. I just hope she doesn’t have too many long lasting effects that will hinder her ability to be the best mom that she is. Her bruises are just out of this world, though, have you seen them?!
Have a lovely Monday afternoon babe! 😉 xoxo

  • Why thank you Alexandra! I hope you had a great weekend, girl! 🙂

  • *gulps* I have not. But seriously, she’s such a strong woman. I can’t imagine what the past few weeks must have been like for her/her family. When does she get to go home??

  • I’m sure you saw but Miss Sara went home yesterday. 🙂

That farmhouse sleepover sounds like my dream. I hope it was fun! I know it is late, but I wanted to add my link in. I suppose I will try and see what happens- tonight I will check everyone else’s links out! *thegoodthingscomin.wordpress.com

  • Hey girl! I know this isn’t the current post link up but FYI we keep the links up open from Friday at 6 am EST and they close the following Wednesday morning at midnight, so it’s open for almost 5 days. :
The farm house is one of my fave places and all their animals are just darling. My home away from home. 🙂

Have a great week love! I read your post later as I head home on the train.
