10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week 23

Happy Friday and Welcome to the 10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week Link Up!

Each Friday, Krysten from Why Girls Are Weird, Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog and I host a weekly Friday link up where we reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week.

Sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that make us grateful or appreciative. We live in a world full of disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – reflecting on the positive, I personally find makes me more aware and appreciative of the little things.

Don’t you agree?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

I have plenty of things I’m happy and/or grateful for and they are:

1. Going out with my driving instructor last Saturday morning proved to be the best and most sound decision. I’m actually now going out daily, just driving around on my own, to a store, to anywhere or no where, just because I can. And it feels so great, so much that I actually cried last weekend. I have freedom back again!!

2. Spending Saturday afternoon with my mom and Jeff at an agricultural fair (with animals, of course, that’s why I went, come on now lets be honest!)

3. Petting a ten month old 600 lb calf. She was so adorable. #lifegoals

4. Hanging out with some friends on a Saturday evening.

5. Packages in the mail are always fun and welcome!  That’s one thing about the holidays that I love, it’s not just bills in the mail but cards and gifts now, too!

6. Being the proud owner of a crochet’d infinity scarf that my friend made me.  It’s so pretty and totally me!

7. Having the determination and pushing myself to get out and drive.  The more I’m out the better, creating good habits and muscle memory from repeated movements.

8. Stranger things. And Miranda Sings. I am HOOKED. And now we’re waiting for season two. Lol

9. Having board members that think of me at work and bring me green smoothies. So thoughtful!

10. Completing the first aid and CPR training course at work. Yahoo!

**BONUS** 11. I am especially grateful for all the birthday wishes and love I had from family, friends and even complete strangers. Here’s to the best 33rd year… 🙂

What about you? What are you happy or grateful for this week?

I am pet sitting this weekend and trying to get myself around town whilst driving stick. So far all is going well, I just have to get over my own anxieties and fears and just chill out.

What about you, what do have YOU have planned for the weekend?

Have fun whatever it is you end up getting up to! Xo

Way to go on the driving!!! This weekend is going to be crazy. While I’d like to focus on cleaning and organizing Rory’s room, I have my cousin’s baby shower to attend in a different state on Saturday and then having dinner at my mom’s after and then Sunday we absolutely have to give the dogs baths, clip their nails, and take their Christmas pictures so that I can order Christmas cards. So I doubt we’ll get any cleaning done. Oh well, it’s life.

I’m so with you on the fun mail! There’s just something wonderful about opening a package you get unexpectedly in the mail!

  • It’s so cool that your board members brought you a green smoothie! That’s sweet. 🙂 And Happy Birthday!! I hope you had the best day.

  • Until I got to Charleston, driving has always been one of my favorite, most liberating things.

  • Ah, such wonderful things to be happy about! I am glad the driving lesson was such a success and you feel confident to drive again! I knew you’d rock it, sweet lady! Enjoy your weekend! Hugs xxx

So much happiness 🙂 I love it. And I am glad that you are driving. You know, before I could get my license the drs told me not to drive. I would love to be able to get up and go sometimes, so I know just how happy this must make you! I hope your weekend is just as happy!

  • UGH I MISSED TELLING YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY! When I read your comment from the day before I was like, “Make sure to remember to tell Lindsay happy birthday!!!” but I failed. So happy happy late birthday!!! Happy mail is the best. I am the last person on the planet to not watch Stranger Things. I reeeally want to still!

  • I can’t wait for stranger things season two! I was so happy to hear they’re making more. I’m also looking forward to the Gilmore Girls episodes coming out soon – have you watched that?

Hanging out with friends is best ever <3
I loved Stranger things too. Did you watch the Miranda Sings show on Netflix? I checked out few minutes of first episode and it didn't look too interesting.

  • I’m so happy to hear this and <3 that you are getting out there and driving again! I imagine that after having a setback the way you did (gosh, when was that again?) it can be hard to get back on the horse, or errr, in the car… but you're doing it and gaining back your independence and that's incredible. So proud of you!

Nights out with friends are the best, aren't they?

XOXO and hope you have a great week!

Awwww I love that someone made a scarf just for you! What a lovely, lovely gift.

  • Holy crap lady, sounds like you had a TON on your plate this past weekend. I hope you were able to put your feet up some and/or have a glorious nap. I’m tired just thinking about what you had planned.
I hope you’re having a good week babe. Your belly is adorable!! You have dropped though. 🙂

  • Right?! I’m glad you had a restful weekend after your week off. Good for you. 🙂

  • It’s so thoughtful, isn’t it? One of our healthier commissioners brought it in and it was such a nice treat. I never get smoothies so it was definitely nice. 🙂

I hope you’re having a good week hun!

  • I gather the driving there is a bitch? I won’t drive downtown Toronto. It’s a whole different level of driving downtown and in a standard, bumper to bumper at a crawl, no thanks.

  • It was the best and most useful gift. I’m trying to create muscle memory and building confidence by going out every night on my own and it’s help, but Christ, I get so needlessly nervous it’s crazy. I’ll get there. 🙂

  • Whys that hun? Because of your medical issues?
It’s HUGE that I have some independence back. It literally would make me cry having to rely so much on Jeff and others even just to schlep my ass to the grocery store. So I’m immensely grateful. 🙂
I hope you’re doing alright this week hun… XOXO

  • No worries homie, I won’t hold it against you. 😉
Just make sure you watch Stranger Things with your hubby next to you so you can grab him if you get frightened. 🙂

  • I never even looked into it but assumed they’d make another season based on how popular it was. I’ve never watched a single episode of Gilmore Girls. Is that something Jeff could tolerate or something to watch on my own? Krysten is a huge fan and she’s always talking about that show.

  • I thought the same thing when my hubby put on the first episode, thinking “who the hell is this awful-sounding chick?” And that was months ago. I came home last Friday and it was on and it was actually funny but my lord, the singing, her lipstick lololol!!

  • It’s so nice eh? Chrissy from The Brave Wanderer made me one last year too. I loooove scarfs/scarves (?). 🙂

  • That was mid-march I was rear and then I don’t think I went out in our new car until May? I dunno but I wish I did the lesson sooner. It was a game changer and precisely what I needed. I’m just so glad I’m out now and pushing myself, I need to do that more though or I get too comfortable.
    I hope you’re having a good week lovey. 😉

  • Probably an on your own one. If it was a movie or something I’d say he could probably tolerate it, but there are A LOT of hours of that show. It’s good, wholesome, easy watching.
