10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week 14

Happy Friday and Welcome to the 10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week Link Up!

Each Friday, Krysten from Why Girls Are Weird, Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog and I host a weekly Friday link up where we reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week.

Sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that make us grateful or appreciative. We live in a world full of disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – reflecting on the positive, I personally find makes me more aware and appreciative of the little things.

Don’t you agree?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

I have plenty of things I’m happy and/or grateful for and they are:

1. Lazy weekends, slow starts specifically and lounging in my pyjamas for far longer than is needed but who cares! 🙂

2. Day dates with my love.

3. I love when Jeff and I are on the exact same wave length and last weekend was exactly that.  We were both on a cleaning/organizing/purging spree like no other.  Plus, the sheer amount of things and furniture he moved around and organized while I was out with my mom Sunday morning was just incredible.  I was amazed and so grateful when I got home.

4. Weekend lunches with jeff and my mom.

5. Discussing our travel plans for the next two years. We aren’t going anywhere next year but rather interior camping for a week in Algonquin Park. Then in 2018, we’ll be headed for Barbados to celebrate our tenth wedding anniversary. #excited #holyshitimgettingold

6. I am incredibly grateful for warmth and heat. Winter is here and I’ll be cold as hell for the next six months.

7. Snuggles in the morning with a critter under the covers. You know Winter has arrived when Baxter starts hiding under blankets. 🙂

8. Visiting with a friend who recently retired a few months ago and catching up with her and what she’s been up to (and her two bulldogs and frenchie :))

Eloise or Ella for short

9. Skipping the gym for a lunch at chipotle with my gym nut friend, Liane.

10. Good, sturdy, practical winter boots. Basically good for Canadian weather and so I don’t fall ass over tea kettle in my walking to and fro.

What about you? What are you happy or grateful for this week?

I’m so excited for tomorrow because we’re going to a dog show!!  I’ve never been to one that I recall and I’m especially excited because they’ll have Bichons there!  Cannot wait to see all the fluffs!!! 🙂

What about you, what do have YOU have planned for the weekend?

Have fun whatever it is you end up getting up to! Xo

Oh my gosh, her bulldog is precious! So many great things to feel happy about. I have had an awesome week off work, eating great food, and catching up with family.

  • I bought some new winter boots the other week and I’m super thankful as they are much nicer and definitely sturdier than my old ones!

  • Omg I’m so jealous you are going to a dog show!! I’ve always wanted to go to one and enjoyed watching part of the show yesterday–so many cuties (and always reminds me of the movie Best In Show, have you ever seen it? You would love it!).

That bulldog is fucking fabulous and I just want to kiss him! Eeep!!

Go you guys on clearing out the clutter and moving things around. Would love to do that myself this weekend. Ps–10 years!? I had no idea! How romantic that you are already planning a getaway for it 🙂

Pps–my gym has a Chipotle practically attached to it. It’s amazing and also deadly at the same time, ha!

  • Love your happy list! Ella is so stinking cute. Her look! was she waiting for you to play with her? Such a sweetheart!
I love lazy weekends, sleeping in and late breakfast!
Hope your weekend is just wonderful, love! xxx

  • Ohbeehave

Wonderful! I enjoy lazy weekend too – Sunday is the only day where I manage to sleep past 6am 🙂

You area a badass at the gym so skipping with a friend every now and then is a nice treat!
Love that pic of Ella…and love critter snuggles under blankets.

  • Ella is incorrigible and she will not for anything put her precious ball down. She’s so adorabULL though.
Sounds like you had a really nice and relaxing thanksgiving. I’m jealous over here. Lol!

  • Isn’t it funny how when you’re younger you go for the shoes that are often uncomfortable and impractical but hey look sweet. Now, as an adult, it’s all about function and practicality. If my footwear can’t keep up with the 4 kms I walk commuting to and from work, then they’re a waste and no good to me.

I hope you’re having a good week Katie!

  • Hey girlie,

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Best In Show. I’ll have to look for it. Girl, you are SO close to the Westminster Dog Show. You should definitely go one year, I’ve heard it’s a blast. It’s the weekend after Valentine’s and the meet and greets are always on the Saturday and Sunday and the show takes place on Monday and Tuesday. I actually want to go one year and stay at one of the handful of hotels where all the dogs stay. 🙂
Ella is such a sweetie eh? She refuses to put that damn ball down but shes so loving, so is Lily they’re other English that’s a bit younger and their Frenchies Iris. 🙂

Yeah dude, it’ll be 10 years in 2018. We’ve been together 15 years next March and married 8 this year. Crazy eh?

Danger Roger Wilco, having a Chipotle attached to the building of your gym IS dangerous. I bet they make a killing from people leaving because it’s the first thing you see and convenient.

    Love ya girl! xoxo

  • Hey love,
Isn’t Ella beautiful? She TRIES to get you to play but she won’t give up her ball to save her life and she’ll just squeak away with it until her heart’s content. It’s so adorable. Lol

I hope you’re having a good week Momma! Xo

  • Hey – one day a week is better than none. Perspective, perhaps? Lol.

    I hope you’re having a great week 🙂

  • I figure once in awhile isn’t too bad, but it’s such a part of my daily routine that it feels foreign to me if I don’t go. I think most of it is mentally and then secondly, I go because I love food and otherwise would be 500 lbs.
Ella and her other bully sister and frenchie, they’re allllll so cute and kissy. I love it! Haha!

    I hope you’re having a good week love!xo

  • Thanks for the inspo–I just added “look up tix for Westminster Dog Show” to my “things to do” today. I’ve always wanted to go–maybe I just buy tickets and think about it later 🙂 And I used to work right next to MSG where the dog show was held and there was a hotel attached to my building. We would always go out and ogle all the dogs because they were so… rare and unique! (some were just weird looking, I’ll be honest, LOL).

OMG, that is incredible that you guys have been together so long! XOXO

SO MUCH LOVE to you and HAPPY FRIDAY, sweet friend <3

  • Even though I’m jealous, m so glad and happy for you that you’re looking into it and brh seriously want to go! Skype me from the dog show! Lolol! I seriously cannot wait for you to go so I can see all of the pictures afterward. One of the two main hotels where all the dogs stay is supposed to be a bit janky but I don’t think that’s bother me if I was a Able to see hundreds of dogs. Heck, I’d even volunteer to sleep with the dogs! Haha!

Agreed, some dogs are weird/strange looking. I used to think afghans were strange looking but they’re actually a pretty lovely dog. Coton de Tulears look like little lambs, dandie dinmonts look so disproportionate, and American bull terriers look funny because they don’t have a bridge in their nose. So many cool/strange dogs appealing to all, eh??

Oh I can’t wait for you to go. Let me know if it’s pricey or not, I’ve never looked into it.
