2016 Royal Canin Dog Show
This past weekend, my husband, Mom and I attended our first dog show. As in the kind you see on tv (think Westminster, but not quite on that scale of grandiose). The variety of breeds, from tiny to giant and pocket dogs all the way up to over 200 pound mark (mastiff), it was truly a feast for my eyes. As you can imagine, I did not stop smiling for one single second. Can you guess how long we were there? Six and a half hours!! Just call me the crazy dog lady from now on, okay? Lol.
We saw: dachshunds, corgis, Manchester terriers, shar pei’s, labs, Afghan hounds, Great Danes (oh my god wait til you see the big guy!), Pyrenees, BICHONS (OMG their big white bouffant heads and their tree trunk fluff legs?! I die!!), poodles, chow Chow’s, Dobermans, Leonbergers, a Dandie Dinmont, cavalier King Charles spaniels, samoyeds, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Collies, old English sheep dogs, German short haired pointers, Viszla’s, Wolfhounds…. and on and on and on. Can you now see why I was so happy and in love with all of the dogs?! It was a cornucopia of canines and I was just eating it up.
The best part of it all was that there was over 30 beautifully groomed Bichons that I fawned over all day long. I fell in love with this one little princess named Aubry. She was less than 2 years old and from Michigan and such a pretty girl. You’ll see many photos of her below, that and a bunch of other Bichons that belong to my mom’s breeder. What was cool was that we were able to pet most of these dogs, many saying of course, because ‘they were dogs first and show dogs second’.
Dogs that I loved: All the Frenchies, the Bichons of course, the Samoyed, the Berners, Afghans, Dobermans, Standard Poodles and the Old English Sheep Dog. Boy they were adorable and super silly. And I almost missed the Danes but caught them before we left.
All were beautiful dogs in their own right. What about you? Any favorites?
Here are 1,765 photos that I took for you to enjoy with me:
I hope you all have a great week! xo!
