10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week 22

Happy Friday and Welcome to the 10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week Link Up!

Each Friday, Krysten from Why Girls Are Weird, Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog and I host a weekly Friday link up where we reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week.

Sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that make us grateful or appreciative. We live in a world full of disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – reflecting on the positive, I personally find makes me more aware and appreciative of the little things.

These posts make me super happy to reflect on the good and grateful things of the week.  I can be having the worst of weeks but I always, always find things to be happy or grateful for.

Don’t you agree?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

We have a *NEW* image for winter – feel free to grab and use it, too!

10 Things That Made Me Happy This Week:

1. Spending New Years in the company.  Just a quiet evening spent at the home of some good friends (and their adorable cats).

2. Waking up New Year’s Day feeling refreshed and ready to start off the year on the right foot.

3. Waking up to a swath of sunshine coming in the window and looking out and all I see are snow covered trees and beautiful sunshine; it was simply beautiful.

4. The moon on Monday night was just incredible.

5. Organizing some cluttered drawers of clothing. Cleaning and organizing always makes me happy.

6. Topped up vacation/personal/sick days. Amen to those!!

7. Couch cuddles with the boys this week.  Charlie has been so snugly this week; Baxter, he’s always my little snuggle bum.

8. Daydreaming about my vacation days for the year and how we plan to fulfill them.

9. Getting back to some normalcy (with the holidays now being over) and putting away everything Christmas related (except for all the cards we got, those are staying up).

10. Getting off the sweets and getting a decent sweat on all week long. I don’t want to see sugar for a long, long time.

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

Do any of you have anything exciting planned for the weekend?

It’s my regular pet sitting weekend and I’ve got 33 pet visits on the schedule (after getting rid of 10! to another girl), so stay tuned for the Pet Sitting Adventures recap next week!  I’m looking after a 4-month old Great Dane on Friday night and I’m sure you can guess I’m so excited about that!! *squeals*

I still have my Christmas stuff up! I don’t usually take it down until end of January. Not because I’m lazy but because I’m in denial that it’s over 😉

I am glad to have pushed myself into blogging this week! I feel like I’ve accomplished so much in just seven short days!

  • Your petsitting adventures always sound like so much fun! I’ve looked into petsitting options in my city and might try it out sometime soon. I’m not sure I want to start in the coldest months of winter, but we’ll see. I have some vacations and extra income for vaca is always appreciated! 🙂

And cuddly puppies! One day this week I was pretty busy trying to get stuff done, so when I finally sat down with Mina in the evening she rested her head on my shoulder. It was the sweetest thing and I just soaked up the cuddles!

  • Daydreaming about vacation days is so fun – I should see how many my husband has and start planning something fun to look forward to!

  • Couch snuggles with my boys in the winter are my favorite <3

I'm proud of you for getting your Christmas stuff taken down! I have to really do that, too. Maybe this weekend. So depressing! And yay for vacations to look forward to. I think this weekend I'm going to stare at pictures of Jamaica and imagine myself in sunshine in a month. Maybe I'll even plan my outfits. Am I the only nutbag who does this?

XOXO and happy weekend to you!

I actually decided to spend time by myself and it felt really good for starting a new year. Thank you for sharing. -Jocelyne from resonatecreations.com

  • i feel like a new person with all my topped up vacation/sick days! already know how i’m gonna use all of them haha. and yes to back to normalcy, sweating and no sweets.

I devoured carrots and broccoli like it was no one’s business. I ate so much junk over the holidays. My body was like “Girl, stop eating things. We are plugged up.”
I loved it when my sick days topped up and the vacation too. What a good feeling that is. One of the hockey moms doesn’t get hers until April! I’m like “Good luck with that”.
I hope this year brings you so much awesome.
I hope there’s lots of sun for you guys up there. We are getting rain today of all the wintry weather things. Snow and rain. Ugh xoxoo

  • Oh my goodness, she was so precious but such a handful! And BIG!! 🙂

  • Me too, Penny! I hope you’ve been having a decent week. Friday is just around the corner my friend. 🙂

  • I hope you’ve been having a lovely week my friend. Friday is JUST around the corner, thankfully. 😉

  • That’s awesome Katie. Keep it up! 🙂 xo

  • That’s awesome you found a place near you that could use some help. It’s work but fun. The pros to the job always outweigh the bad or potential for “shitty” circumstances. And hey, making some money too, BONUS!! 🙂

Awe! Don’t you love also when they do a big sigh?? I love that. 🙂

I hope you’re having a great week hun!

  • Do it my friend. Gives you something to look forward. Even stay-cations are fun. Exploring new places, foods. Were going on a big paddling/canoe trip for 7 days in June. We’re going back to Barbados in 2018 to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. 🙂

  • I’ve taken my Christmas things down, I’ve yet to put them in our basement storage though. Crap!! Lol! I’ve got to do that today.

Are you going to plan out the entire trip or wing it when you’re in Jamaica? Or a bit of both? I’m so excited for you! Start planning outfits because if you need anything you’ll have to look for summer clothes, right? I sorta plan my outfits but not neurotically. 🙂

  • I LOOOOVE time by myself. 🙂

  • Me too, I’ve been strategizing since last week. Haha! 🙂
I hope you’re having a great week hun!

  • Not entirely sure–I’m much more of a planner, Bryan likes to wing it, so we’ll prob do a bit of both. The great thing about hotel we booked is that some excursions are included (like glass bottom boats) so we can just take care of that when we’re there. OMG, i need to get away NOW!!!
