Hello my friends and welcome. It was a pet sitting weekend for me, this last one. It was manageable because a couple of us were working, so it wasn’t insane like other weekends have been where I’ve felt as though I’ve needed to clone myself (thankfully). So let’s get to it!
So here’s the deal for any new readers here. Pet sitting is my part-time, fun “job”. I work one weekend a month, every four weeks (and sometimes more often, if it is needed and I am available) and have been doing so for the almost five years. It was a job that I stumbled upon I guess at the right time and I feel so blessed to be doing it. I get to spend time with animals and anyone that knows me well will tell you that my heart is with four-legged creatures. There’s just something so special that I cannot put into words about how I feel when I’m around animals. What can I say? I am animal mad in every sense of the word. I physically cannot walk past a dog in the street without stroking it and I’ve been known on many occasion to stop the car and get out and ask to pet your dog. Yes, I am THAT person. And, FUNNILY, despite being allergic to cats, I still cannot resist a sweet, fluffy purring love.
- Number of booked visits: I was supposed to have had 25 visits but then one cancelled on Friday night, so it ended up being: two on Friday night , 12 on Saturday and 10 on Sunday.
- Animals: The usual, dogs and cats, a yellow napped amazon bird
- Distance driven in weekend (Friday night at 6 pm to Sunday night at 10 pm): 185 kilometers
- Weather: This weekend, it finally felt like spring. I think (hope?) winter is behind us and warmer, sunnier days are plenty ahead.
Once again, it is a photo heavy post so if you’re not into that kind of thing or you’re worried about me hogging your bandwidth, you should click away in 5…..4…..3…. 2…… 1.. If the pictures aren’t showing, click on the words and you’ll get a pop-up photo window. Sorry!
Chester! He lives in a retirement home with his momma.
Saturday & Sunday
Lexi.. She’s such a pretty red/rusty color.
Muffie also lives with his momma at the same retirement home. I love that some homes allow residents to move in with their pets. They can’t acquire after they’ve moved in, but they can certainly bring their companions. I know these ladies just adore their dogs.
and then there was ,,,,
A client left a butter tart for me and boy was it ever good. 🙂 The lady that owns the hounds below has a restaurant in our town and they are famous for the butter tarts.
A break at home and these two are caught sunbathing.
My little cutie pies <3
You just have to see the next little guy. Still a baby (less than a year) and full of beans and kisses. A French Bulldog named Muchacho.
I love the light during that magic sunrise hour.
Isn’t this backyard just gorgeous? This little fluffball, Nemo, a Pomapoo (Pomeranian/Poodle mix) and Mugzi, a 14 year old Pug.
Cassie (left) and Lexi (right).
Waiting for his sunbeam… then Daddy moved him so he could be in the little slice of sunbeam. 🙂
Harley, the yellow-naped Amazon parrot. You guys have seen this character over the last couple of months and here he is again, never disappointing. 🙂
Did you make it to the end? I know, it’s a lot. This time around I tried to make smaller videos instead of making one compilation of the entire weekend. Let me know if you prefer one format over the other or if you have any questions. 🙂
How was your weekend? Yep, I know it’s Wednesday but I’m so not on the ball this week, or any week or day for that matter, let’s be honest.
My next pet sitting weekend isn’t for another 4 weeks so I’ll see you back then.
Hope you’re all having a great week! xo
