What’s up, Weekend? 41

What's up weekend?

Happy Friday and Welcome to the *NEW* ‘What’s up, Weekend’ Friday Link Up!

Last Friday was the kick off of the newly revamped link-up that Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog, Christina from The Brave Wanderer. and I are hosting, called ‘What’s up, Weekend?’

For the last two years, Fridays have always been (and always will be) a place where I reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week. To expand upon that, this link-up is now open to any post that relates to happy things, happy lists, gratitude lists, faves of the week or it could also be your practice to greet the weekend with a bang/open arms. Whatever your choice is, have fun with it. But please remember that any links that are just simply “dumped” or if your blog post does not mesh with our theme, it will be deleted.

For me personally, sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that have made me grateful or appreciative during the week. We live in a world full of conflict, disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – you name it. Reflecting on the positive, I personally find, makes me more mindful, gracious and appreciative of all things, big and small.

You can be having the worst of weeks but I always, always manage to find things to be happy or grateful for. So, I hope writing out your lists makes you happy, too!

What's up, Wednesday?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

Things That Made Me Happy This Week:

1. Adding to my Lululemon gear.  I ended up getting this strappy white sports bra and it fits beautifully.  #yesihaveaLululemonproblem

2. It was so nice to catch up with my regular pet sitting last weekend (the animals and a few of the ladies at the retirement home – they are so incredibly sweet).

3. A warm enough day to have the windows wide open to let some fresh, spring air in.

4. Seeing so many people and their dogs out enjoying the nice weather.  #thelittlethings

5. Watching Baxter giddily run around the house with a squeaky in his mouth.

6. Being able to stay home from work when I’m feeling unwell.

7. Brainstorming with Christina and Charlotte about some exciting things we’ve got planned for The Peaceful Posse group.  I’m just loving this group!

8. Homeland, Real Housewives of New York (don’t judge) and Prison Break.

9. Snuggles with this fella:

10.  Plowing through a bunch of comments and emails Wednesday night.  That was a great feeling.

11. Rocking out to tunes in the car.

12. Really nice compliments this week from a few fellow gym-goers.

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

Tomorrow, Jeff and I are heading out to Peterborough to compete in a target shooting match and then on Sunday, we’re heading downtown Toronto to the Green Living Show with my mom.

What about YOU? What do you have planned for this weekend?

Have a fabulous weekend my friends, make it a good one!

My friend’s Charlotte, Christina and I have formed a new blogging group on Facebook called The Peaceful Posse and its intended purpose is to be a safe and supportive place for bloggers to come hang out, share their posts, interact with others and much more. Happy Friday! I’m outta work at 12 today (since our department doesn’t really like us working overtime) so I’m grateful to have the extra time for lunch with my husband 🙂

Other than that, this week I’m grateful for my family. <3

I love the Peaceful Posse and can’t wait to see what’s in store. I am a HUGE housewives hag.
Loving the Spring weather. Have an amazing weekend sweets!

  • There are so many wonderful things happening in this little group and it’s so exciting to see it grow <3 The feedback has been amazing so far.

LOVE letting in the spring air. I can't believe you guys got snow!! It's too cold today to leave the windows open, but it'll reach 70+ degrees (F) next week. I'm excited for the warmth and sunshine 🙂

Hope you're feeling better and that the dogs are good companions when you are sick. I always find Buster know and is extra snuggly when I'm not feeling so well. It's the best feeling.

Have a wonderful weekend, my sweet!! Excited to catch up on the flipside!

  • I would love snuggles with that sweet pup too! And I love the Peaceful Posse so much, you have no idea how much it’s helped me with my blog in the last few weeks! Hope you have a wonderful weekend sweets!

Love that it’s finally feeling like spring in Wisconsin! This weekend I’m spending quality time with the family and resting up (I gave myself a concussion and broke my nose 10 days ago). I’ve been focusing on eating clean, and when I’m able, I’m going to start yoga.

Hope you have a lovely weekend and enjoy your snuggles with your furbaby!

I’m loving The Peaceful Posse group too. It’s great! Glad to see you had a nice week – it needs to warm up more around me so I can open the windows again!

  • I’ve also had the windows wide and managed to enjoy some time in the garden this week! I love Spring! The peaceful posse is my favourite facebook group, it’s much friendlier and supportive than some I have been a part of.

What an excellent list!! This week I’m happy that my baby girl got over her cold and my son is really becoming a conversationalist!

  • Its great seeing everyone come out of hibernation in the spring, isn’t it? We’ve been out exploring with our little boys and dog every day this week. I don’t know who was more excited 😉 lol

  • Kim Munoz

I love it all. Spring weather with snow on the ground? LOL. That is awesome! We love Homeland but its just not the same anymore. Took the boys out to the Strawberry Festival last night. Tonight we have a party to go to and Sunday we will be catching up around the house. Have a wonderul weekend love!

  • Love the picture of you and your pup. What a cutie! I used to be a huge fan of Real Housewives of NY, although I haven’t watched it in forever, but I get the appeal. So excited to hear about the things you and the other ladies are planning for TPP. Such a fun group! 🙂

  • Loving The Peaceful Posse group! Can’t wait to see what else is in store 🙂

  • I really love our group and doing this all with the two of you! I also love seeing everyone enjoying it and engaging! So much fun!
I hope your weekend has been wonderful!

I absolutely love how you revamped the link up! Such a great group of women! I love reading everyone’s happy posts and grateful lists. It reminds me of the things I am grateful for. <3

  • Really enjoying this group as well! I need to surround myself with more positivity and this is such a great way to do it.
    Have a wonderful week.

  • i’m digging the group, too. :]

  • I love the group. I am feeling a little guilty because I feel like I’m not giving as much of myself as I’d like to it, connecting with others, and exploring new-to-me blogs and bloggers. But, I know it’s not a place created to encourage anyone to feel emotions like “guilt”, so I let it pass.
Rocking out to tunes in the car is a favorite pastime of mine as well. I’m sure that comes as no surprise.

  • I’m/we’re happy you’re enjoying it. Thanks Penny. I hope you’re having a great week. 🙂

  • I read your comment last Friday but am just getting to replying to you now. Your lunch plans with the hubby sounded lovely and I hope you both enjoyed. 🙂
    I hope you’re having a great week love! 🙂

  • Me too, girl, me too. There’s going to be some fun link ups, with cool themes, Instagram takeovers, a whole bunch. We’re trying not to roll out too much so as to not overwhelm or inundate us and the group with too much all at once.

Have you watched RHNY yet? I haven’t watched the new season yet. Or what about RH of Toronto? That one is DULL compared to the drama on the other shows. lol

I hope you’re having a great week hun. xo

  • Isn’t it really something lovely and beautiful, seeing a space with so much positivity, support and encouragement. I’ve been feeling guilty that I haven’t been engaging as much as I’d like or want to, but then I read what Erin said. This was not a group that was created that encourages guilt, so I’m trying to let it go.

It’s so funny. Last Friday, there was snow on the ground, but yet it was beautiful walking home Friday after work. Come Saturday morning, it was looking like your typical gross spring where everything has melted and everything looks so soggy and wet. But our winter has been weird so it’s nothing unusual I guess. Heck, even up until the May 24 long weekend, we can have dicey weather and get snow. It’s GREAT. LOL

Last weekend was beautiful and this week has been good. Monday it rained something fierce, Tuesday was nice, yesterday was chilly and today, the same. I’m absolutely loving the sunshine and fresh air. 🙂

I hope you’re having a great week babe! xo

  • SO glad to hear that it has been nothing but positive for you. That’s fantastic and totally the goal and aim for the group. Positivity, support and encouragement. 🙂 I’m glad you’re enjoying it as much as we are, hun.
I hope you’re having a lovely week my friend. 🙂

  • OH we have a lot of similar weather you and I (I live just north of Toronto).
I hope you’ve been resting up as much as you can and that you’re healing is on track (both your nose and head). Sounds pretty awful whatever it is that you did. I’m pretty shocked that as clumsy and putzy of a person I am, I’ve never broken a bone (except jaw surgery) or had a concussion in my life.

I really love your blog, hun. 🙂 Really lovely having you link up with us. I hope your week has been a good one. 🙂

  • Lauren, has it warmed up enough for you to open up your windows?! Yesterday and today are a bit chilly, hovering close to freezing (not spring like weather if you ask me!), but otherwise it’s been nice..

I hope you’re having a lovely week, my dear. .:)

  • Spending time in the garden sounds really lovely and relaxing. 🙂
I definitely agree with you. That’s how the group was born: we three were in a group where the admin/owner of the group was a bit of a bully and she never followed the rules she so vehemiantly preached to the group. Eventually, the friendship with us became toxic and we all three chose to walk away. Not an easy thing to do, but necessary sometimes in life, you know?
I’m/we are so grateful for your support and that you’re loving the group as much as you say. 🙂

    I hope you’re having a great week hun. 🙂

  • Isn’t it a great show?! My husband and I stumbled upon the show at about season 3 or 4 and then binged watched it to catch up. I just love Claire, Saul….. I miss Damian Lewis. I thought he was phenomenal in that show. Enjoy hun. 🙂

I hope you’re having a lovely week my friend.

  • Having your baby girl overcome a cold, I’d say, is a big victory. Sick babies are so sad, you just want them to feel better but it can never come fast enough, can it? I hope your son didn’t get sick in the process.

Thanks so much for stopping by hun. I hope you’ve been having a lovely week. 🙂

  • Our springs, Kim, are FKD. LOL We can get snow all the way up until the end of May for crying out loud. That’s why I joke that our winters are 6-8 months, summer is 3-4 and maybe we TOUCH on other seasons just ever so slightly.

I agree about Homeland. I actually was upset after Damian Lewis left, that was a huge game changer for me, although, this current season that just ended was pretty damn good. But then again, it could be because we JUST binge watched that show because we hadn’t realised the show had come back from break. Oops.

I hope your week has been decent hun and that those little pups are behaving. 😉 lol xoxo

  • Thanks Lecy. 🙂
I think I like mindless reality tv because I don’t have to use my brain. It could have something to do with my daytime job and it sucking the life out of me each day before I head home and feel brain-dead.
I’m so glad to have you in our group, for your help with Chrissy (IG pods, she was telling us about you offering to help, which I think is fantastic!

I hope you’re having a lovely week my dear. 🙂

  • So glad you’re loving it and grateful to have you, girl. 🙂

  • Such kind (and positive!) words, it is SO encouraging and positive, I LOVE IT. It wouldn’t be half of what it is without all you wonderful people in the group, seriously. I’m loving the support, encouragement and friendships. I’ve met so many (new), wonderful people and it’s really, really lovely. 🙂

I hope your week has been good, Jessica. 🙂

  • So grateful for your kind words and I’m/we’re glad to hear it, that you’re enjoying this group as much as we are, too. SO happy to have you and getting to know you and the others more. 🙂

I hope your week has been a good one, hun, xo

  • *thumbs up, sister* xo

  • Thank you for writing what you wrote because I’ve been feeling guilty for not having as much time as I’d like to engage and your words make so much sense. This group is not a place that encourages those negative-like emotions and I need to let it go. That’s it, that’s all. Thank you, babe.

It is no surprise at all. I can picture you belting out tunes at the top of your lungs. 😉 xoxox

  • It’s so great, even for myself. I become more of a recluse in the winter, mainly because it’s so damn cold out and I feel like a bear that wants to hibernate. LOL
I hope the weather has been good down by you so that you’ve been able to continue your little adventures with your boys and pup. 🙂

  • I just don’t have enough words to express how much this group and all its tribe of people makes me. And for you and Charlotte, you guys do so much and I’m so grateful to you both. In a few words, I love it and this is the best thing we could have done, was started our own group. It’s been nothing but positive, positive, positive.
I hope your week has been good, love. It’s almost FRI-YAY!! 🙂

  • I’m happy to help any way I can! 🙂

  • You’re amazing, girl. Thank you so much. xo

  • I love it too, and Erin is totally 100% right! I think I’m going to try and peek in on days when I’m not posting to my blog to catch up with some bloggers. We all do what we can but lord knows we have enough guilt in our lives and don’t need to add any more to the plate 🙂

I can’t believe the weather you’re having! It’s been lovely here, really warm and sunny… this morning I assumed it would be the same and raced out the door in a tank top. Bad idea, lol–it was SO chilly!

Hope you enjoy the rest of the week, my sweet–I’ll try to write back to your email today. LOVE YOU!
