What’s up, Weekend? 28

What's up, weekend?

Happy Friday and Welcome to the *NEW* ‘What’s up, Weekend’ Friday Link Up!

Welcome to the revamped link-up that Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog, Christina from The Brave Wanderer and I host called ‘What’s up, Weekend?’

For the last two years, Fridays have always been (and always will be) a place where I reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week. To expand upon that, this link-up is now open to any post that relates to happy things, happy lists, gratitude lists, faves of the week or it could also be your practice to greet the weekend with a bang/open arms. Whatever your choice is, have fun with it. But please remember that any links that are just simply “dumped” or if your blog post does not mesh with our theme, it will be deleted.

For me personally, sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that have made me grateful or appreciative during the week. We live in a world full of conflict, disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – you name it. Reflecting on the positive, I personally find, makes me more mindful, gracious and appreciative of all things, big and small.

You can be having the worst of weeks but I always, always manage to find things to be happy or grateful for. So, I hope writing out your lists makes you happy, too!

What's up, Wednesday?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

Grateful and Happy things of the Week:

1. Time to myself.  I really, really love alone time.  I can either relax it up or get so much done.

2.  An extremely productive weekend getting things done around the condo.

3.  Jeff coming to meet me on his bike after work.

4.  Going through all of our camp gear and inventorying what we have, and what we don’t need to take with us since we are portaging and hauling in all of our things.  If it’s not an essential, it ain’t comin.

5. The new GRIT Plyo and GRIT Strength classes at Goodlife. They are so good!

6.  Ohh how my muscles ache this week, in a good way, though. I tried the new GRIT series they released at my gym and holy smokes. I totally recommend it.

7.  Going for walks with Charlie and Baxter’s dog friends. I love when they smell the girls – they catch a whiff of them before they even see them and they go nuts. πŸ™‚

8. I think this week’s theme might just revolve around dogs. LOL!  I just love, love, love seeing Jeff dote on the boys and I always try to strain and hear what sweet nothings he’s whispering to them.  It’s so damn cute πŸ™‚

9. Quiet evenings at home with Jeff and the boys πŸ™‚

10. I’m so proud of myself for drinking 4 liters of water every single day this week.  I might as well live in the washroom at this point, but that’s okay.  Lol

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

We were planning on going up north since we were both free this weekend, but Jeff isn’t so sure he wants to go so we’ll see what we actually get up to.  I’ve got a four-day long weekend, booking today off and we have Monday off as a statutory holiday, so that’s pretty awesome. πŸ™‚

What about YOU? What do you have planned for this weekend?

Have a fabulous weekend my friends, make it a good one!

Time to yourself is definitely key. I usually have Fridays and Saturdays off, and I haven’t had a Friday to just myself in a few weeks now. The quiet is nice, lol

  • Time to yourself is definitely an essential thing. And I am super impressed with your water drinking! I am trying to be better about that myself but I haven’t always been successful. I hope you have a lovely weekend my dear!

  • Nice job with the water! I’m working on that one. Alone time rocks. I don’t get it often, but I need it to help me stay sane. That’s awesome about the new classes at the gym. Sore muscles from hard work is the best. Have a fantastic weekend!

  • Kim Munoz

I love that you call it a washroom πŸ™‚ Thats a crap ton of water! And a week that revolves around dogs sounds like the perfect week! LOL Have an amazing weekend Love!

  • shootingstarsmag

Great job on all the water you drank! I really need to up mine, but yeah, I’d spend probably most of my day in the bathroom too I think! LOL

I love that the theme of the week seems to be dogs. πŸ™‚

  • Hooray for alone time!!! Mine happens from 4-6am every day. Any news on the house offer?????? I was hoping to see that on your list!

  • Kim Airhart

I need some alone time. Good for your sweets! I love being sore from working out. Oh and I drank water right after I read this. xxoo

  • Julie

I love alone time too!! 4 liters of water per day! Holy cow…and you’re rocking it with those classes!! Happy weekend!

  • I always look forward to a little time alone πŸ™‚

  • I like some alone time, too! But I also love time with Tracey, Gracie and Zoe. πŸ™‚

You and Jeff must be getting excited about your big bike trek — isn’t it in, like, less than two weeks?

  • Divya @ Eat. Teach. Blog.

I LOVE me some alone time. People think it’s weird because I think I’m a natural extrovert. But I can DO SO MANY THINGS when I’m alone! And I’m not on anyone else’s schedule. Just me, myself, and I!

  • It IS a lot but when you grow accustomed to it, I feel dehydrated anything less than. And not surprisingly, I have more energy throughout the day.
Good lord it has been a long week. I hope it hasn’t been too bad for ya. πŸ™‚ xo

  • Hey babes,
It must be Thursday because I’m responding to comments. How are you? Getting back into the swing of things now that you’re back from Texas? This week is so long and so brutal and work has nothing to do with it. I’m feeling like I’d like to crawl into my bed and not emerge for a couple of weeks. Just sick and tired of some crap that never changes…I’m just super frustrated lately. Oh well, it’s almost the weekend and my pet sitting weekend, which means I’ll be all smiles, which is a positive thing. πŸ™‚
Hope you’re having a great week hun.

  • I revel in the quiet and I’m sure you must, too, now that your little girl is babbling and making all sorts of sounds and words. πŸ™‚

  • I’m an only child so I CRAVE alone time or I go batty. Sometimes I also just can’t deal so it’s just better when it’s just me, myself and I.
Start carrying around a big water bottle with you and I’m sure your intake will increase. That’s how mine increased. A blogger sent me this giant water bottle in a gift swap and it has changed my life. I drank 2 liters a day before but now I’m just kicking ass. πŸ™‚

  • With your three wild boys, you do need some time to yourself and QUIET. Is it ever quiet in your house? Probably not often and when it is, CUE THE ANGELS. lol!
    I hope you’re having a great week hun. πŸ™‚

  • I mix it up by saying washroom, bathroom and restroom. What do you say? I’m never consistent.
I’m hoping this weekend picks up (pet sitting), as this week has been dragging far too much and I’m just over it.
Sending love and light to you, my dear. xoxox

  • LOL! I know there are worse things that ‘living’ in the bathroom but man, I feel like I’m constantly in the bathroom or thinking I should maybe perhaps go. Oh the struggle. LOL
    I hope you’re having a good week, Lauren. πŸ™‚

  • Even if you go for a nice walk on your own, at least those few minutes are yours and yours alone. I NEED and crave alone time. I’m an only child and sometimes I feel like I’m being smothered and I know then that I need to escape and just be by myself. Harder with kids, I know…..
Keep drinking your water and lots of it, Kim. πŸ˜‰ Hope you’re having a great week.

  • I hope you’re having a great week, Julie. I’m currently sipping on my 4th liter. πŸ˜‰

  • Me too and I could use some desperately today/this weekend.

  • You get up at 4 am?!?! Is that just so you can squeeze in you time? Good job, girl.
You’ve got me confused with Charlotte. She put an offer in on a house last week but she heard over the weekend that someone outbid them. Hopefully something better will come along for her and her boyfriend, I’m sure of it.
Hope you’re having a great week Kristi. πŸ™‚

  • It’s a balance, right? I’m an only child so I crave being by myself and the silence, I suppose.

  • Definitely. I have an older sister, whom I adore, but I guess I have introverted tendencies. LOL

  • LOL. Nothing wrong with that.
I always wanted siblings but at the same time, I think I would’ve been a beast of a sister. Then again growing up would’ve been completely different. πŸ™‚

  • Mar

Hahah she sure is a chatty cathy now! Happy Friday!
