Monthly Mantras, Goals & Currently {July} 12

Only two short months ago we launched of the Peaceful Posse monthly link up, Monthly Mantras, Goals & Currently.  For those that missed it, the link will open up on the first Monday of each month and will remain open for 14 days.  So for the month of July, it will open on Monday, July 3rd and close at midnight on Monday, July 17th.  Our next link up will be Monday, August 7th..

It is totally up to you on how you want to layout or structure your posts.  Do whatever works for you, how about that? 🙂

So here goes my update on my June Goals and then we’ll get crackin’ on July’s mantras, goals and currently.

Let’s take a look at what my Goals for the month of June were and their results:

  1. Read more.  Not gonna lie, I read a BIT more but not much.  I certainly got some reading in while we were camping for the week.  That was so nice and relaxing.
  2. Start planning out more of our dinners so I’m not indecisive in the evenings.  I him and ha in the evenings what to eat for dinner all.the.time., I think maybe because I’m bored.  So I’m planning to meal planning dinners.  I’ve been planning out meals for the week and this has been so much better than trying to wing it and then loathing wanting to cook every single night.
  3. Start cleaning a bit more during the week so I’m not doing so much of it on the weekends.  Fail.  Well, maybe not a total failure but I could have been doing more during the month of June.
  4. Relax and unwind on our camping/paddling trip.  I plan to be unplugged for seven whole days.!!!  It was GLORIOUS and so relaxing!!

Mantras for July:

July Goals:

  1. Read more.
  2. Focus on Charlie’s post-op recovery and healing.  He has surgery on his leg on Tuesday, July 4th.
  3. Live with more intention.
  4. Be more positive.

Reading… – Fast and Loose by Stuart Woods and Night Watch by Iris and Roy Johansen

Playing… Jeff and I have been playing cards lately.  And of course, I’m still playing Words with Friends.

Watching… House of Cards, Orange in the New Black, Big Brother, Better Call Saul…

Trying… embrace this time of change and looking for the positive.

Cooking… Allllll the food.  We survived off of dehydrated/freeze-dried food on our paddling trip for 8 days and boy was I happy to see some substance once we made it back to the car and the highway.

Eating… Alllllll the things, specifically everything that is NOT dehydrated.  lol

Drinking… Still drinking water like a mad man.

Calling… mom for updates on Charlie and checking in to see how Baxter is, too.

Texting… Always the same handful of people. Jeff, Alexandra, Dina, Regina.

Pinning… cute outfits, inspirational quotes, mantras, ISFJ memes, dog/pet pictures. Always!

Tweeting… I’m kinda bet Twitter…

Going… Nowhere.  We’re back now, having just been on a seven day paddling trip up in Algonquin Park.

Loving… my people.

Hating… when vacations come to an end.

Discovering… new recipes for dinners. <—- this still applies for this month, too.

Thinking… about all of our summer plans and what we’ve got going on each weekend.

Feeling… relaxed, blessed and fortunate..

Hoping (for)… a smooth recovery for Charlie.

Listening (to)… all of the tunes. Jeff said I was singing and swaying to music like crazy when we went and ate a pita after we got out of the park after our camping trip.

Celebrating… our ninth wedding anniversary on June 28th.

Smelling… grapefruit or anything citrus. <- Still. I recently tried Kiehl’s grapefruit body scrub and I love everything grapefruit.  Mmmm!

Thanking… my mom and everything she does for our family. We are so blessed. <3

Considering… don’t know about this one.

Starting… a trend and completing my monthly mantras and goals every month going forward. <—- this was May’s and June’s goal and lookie here, look at me go, here I am again for month three, July.  I’m doing well thus far. 🙂

Finishing… what I start. Always. 🙂

  • I’m so glad you were able to relax and unwind while you gone! That’s so important. I really need to get into a better cleaning routine during the week so that I don’t have to do everything on the weekend too. I’d love to have a day where I can truly relax and take some time off.

  • My goal for July is to read more, too! Last month I only finished two books…

  • I am loving the first mantra you have listed here. It is so important to be aware of our energy. Glad you were able to relax and unwind. It looks like you are doing pretty good here.

Girl! I am so glad you are back 🙂 The trip looked amazing! I will be linking up when I get my shit straight. LOL July kinda snuck up behind me and kicked me in the butt! Be more Intentional. YES! I need to be more positive too. Sending belly rubs and hugs your way!

  • San

Happy belated anniversary! I hope you also had a nice holiday weekend!

(I linked my Currently post from late June… I hope that’s ok, because I always post my Currently posts in the second half of the month ;)).

  • Carly Ned

I’m loving these mantras! One of my July goals is to read more too!

  • Girl, as hard as it was some days paddling through the rain and carrying all of our $hit, it was worth it when we landed on our campsites and we could just look around and be in awe of where we were and all of nature that was surrounding us.
I’m so trying to clean more during the week but have been failing a lot since we came back from camping. With all the gear drying out and spread out, I’m surrounded by crap. My goal is to get everything packed away again and in storage by the end of this coming weekend. This weekend, Jeff goes up north and I’m going to bring Charlie home from my mom’s (since I’ll be home all weekend) and I intend on having a really relaxing weekend just spending time with the dogs and taking it easy (read: taking naps on both days 🙂 ). I hope you’re able to take a day or two like this for yourself, soon, too. 🙂 xoxo

  • See two is a lot for me. I think it’s because my day job is so mentally draining, that I look for something easy to read or nothing at all. But I need to improve this. This coming weekend, I hope to finish one book and get into another while it’s quiet. 🙂

  • Isn’t it true though? If you’re miserable and constantly negative, what kind of energy do you think you’ll attract? And if you’re positive, the same question. You’re more likely to get back what you give or put out and I think it just all goes to being more mindful and aware of how we carry and conduct ourselves.
I hope your July has been good to you thus far, my dear. xox

  • Hey girl, I had a blast! Gotta recap that this week, where does the time go?!!!
You still got a little less than a week to link up before it closes, you got lots of time. If not, there’s always August. 🙂
Belly rubs are pets are always appreciated around my neck of the woods. I’m sending thanks on their behalf. 😉 xoxox

  • Thanks girl, I really appreciate it and think that’s so kind of you. The week off was amazing and much-needed. Now I need to hold on to August until my next vacation of 6 days. And then afterwards, I get to look forward to Barbados next year, I can’t wait!
Absolutely, link up your posts when ours open. The timing is off, but who cares? We don’t mind at all. 🙂
Have a great week and July hun. 😉 xo

  • Thanks Carly. I’m behind already but I plan to get some reading in this coming weekend when it’s quiet and my husband is out of town. 🙂
