What’s up, Weekend? 20

What's up weekend?

Happy Friday and Welcome to the ‘What’s up, Weekend’ Friday Link Up!

Welcome to the revamped link-up that Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog, Christina from The Brave Wanderer and I host call, ‘What’s up, Weekend?’

For the last two years, Fridays have always been (and always will be) a place where I reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week. To expand upon that, this link-up is now open to any post that relates to happy things, happy lists, gratitude lists, faves of the week or it could also be your practice to greet the weekend with a bang/open arms. Whatever your choice is, have fun with it. But please remember that any links that are just simply “dumped” or if your blog post does not mesh with our theme, it will be deleted.

For me personally, sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that have made me grateful or appreciative during the week. We live in a world full of conflict, disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – you name it. Reflecting on the positive, I personally find, makes me more mindful, gracious and appreciative of all things, big and small.

You can be having the worst of weeks but I always, always manage to find things to be happy or grateful for. So, I hope writing out your lists makes you happy, too!

What's up, Wednesday?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

Grateful and Happy things of the Week:

1. Spending last Friday evening with my mom and the dogs.

2. Celebrating the marriage of our friends, Chantelle and Bruce,ย  It was such a beautiful, romantic and rustic wedding, we were both so happy to have been included on their special day.

My most favorite picture of us in a long, long time.

3. We are blown away at just how quickly Charlie is healing from his CCL surgery (knee surgery) this time around.ย  He never seizes to amaze us.ย  We thought being ten years old now that he’d bounce back a bit slower this time around but that hasn’t been the case at all.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

4. Afternoon naps.ย  Sleep and naps will always be high up on my happy lists. ๐Ÿ™‚

5. Weekends at home with Jeff.ย  We could be doing all the things or nothing at all and yet there is still no place or person I’d rather be with more.

6.ย  Making plans for a girls weekend at the spa in November.ย  Scandinave Spa is one of my favorite places and I leave every single time feeling like I’m walking on water, I feel so great.ย  It is so popular and renowned that you have to book 4-6 months in advance for massages and their Scandinavian baths always have a wait list on weekends.

7. The flowers and succulents (I took 3… shhh don’t tell (they were extras anyways)) I brought home from Chantelle and Bruce’s wedding have brought me so much joy this week.ย  Every time I glance at them, I’m reminded of the happy day and weekend celebrations.

8. Pitches to a handful of brands this week.ย  I’m finally getting off my butt…

9. Fresh linens.

10. Netflix’s Narcos and El Chapo.

11.ย Casual conversations with my boss.ย  I really, really like the woman and I cannot believe that I was iffy about her when she started with the organization nine months ago,ย  She’s a really lovely lady that has brought so much to the table and we are fortunate to have her.ย  It also helps that she’s just a real, genuine, no-bullshit person.ย  What you see is what you get.

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

I am having a quiet weekend with Charlie and Baxter this weekend.ย  Jeff is heading up north today and Charlie is coming home for a couple of days before he goes back to my mom’s and back to the vet’s on Monday to get his stitches out. He’s doing so great in terms of healing this time around – we all agree that he’s healing much, much quicker this time around.

What about YOU? What do you have planned for this weekend? Take care friends! ๐Ÿ™‚

Aw, what a beautiful wedding! I’m glad that Charlie is doing better and healing quickly – that’s awesome. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • It’s so important to remember that there is always something to be grateful for. What a lovely wedding!

  • Thanks so much girl; we had such a nice time at the wedding and it wasn’t too stuffy, just very laid back.
I thought the succulents in the bride’s bouquet just gorgeous and so different from the usual bouquets you see. She definitely had her style incorporated into all the feels of the day.
I hope you’re having a lovely week my dear. xox

  • Thanks Marla. I ordered some pictures from the wedding this past weekend. That picture of the two of us is definitely one of my faves now. ๐Ÿ™‚
I got a sponsored post coming up from a notepaper/writing tools company called Baron Fig. Jeff has been crazy into fountain pens and fancy papers/notebooks, so I pitched and got it right away. It was so easy.
I hope you had a great weekend and you’re having a pleasant week my friend. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Thanks girl. Honestly, with Charlie being 10 years old now, I thought recovery would be a bit slower so it’s really been a breeze and I’m so grateful it hasn’t been dragging. We’re just waiting to get in to see his surgeon to get the all good, then we start hydrotherapy and he LOVES that. I’ll post videos when we get there. You gotta see him – he’s just so adorable in the tank. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Weren’t they? I love keepsakes and I think I’m in love with succulents now. I just love how low-maintenance they are.

  • If I could redo our wedding or get married again, I’d definitely go for rustic. That’s far more up my alley than say a uber formal wedding, you know? I love everything to feel warm and cozy. I love burlap at weddings, lanterns, apparently I also like succulents, too. The succulents in the bride’s bouquet were gorgeous. I really liked that versus all flowers or the usual you expect or see at a wedding.
Your boss quit ๐Ÿ™ That makes me sad. Does she had a new leader taking her place or is there a vacancy now? Will you keep in touch with your boss? I had high hopes of keeping in touch with my boss that left a year ago but she’s been silent and frankly, I don’t chase people. It has to be a two-way street, you know? Oh well, she was good to work with before but my new boss is just really great to work with. And her energy is everything, she’s just so positive.
I had a LOVELY weekend with Charlie and Baxter, it was super relaxing and so nice to have Charlie at home. I think he enjoyed being home, too. I’m pet sitting this weekend but I think Jeff wants to bring him home, which is exciting!!
I owe you an email girl, I’ll get to that this afternoon. Love you babes! Hope your week has been good to you. xoxo

  • Thanks so much Beth. It’s been quite a relief seeing Charlie recover as quickly as he has because I was worried with him being 10 now and two years passing since his other leg surgery, that recovery would be slow but thankfully, it’s been the opposite.
I love weddings too! We have another one in September were going to and Jeff is best man, but frankly I’m wondering how much of a shit show it’s going to be because it is all over the place in terms of planning, communication AND there’s going to be a lovely mixture of police and bikers. Soo… yeah. HAAH! We’ll see how that one goes. ๐Ÿ™‚
I hope your week has been good, Beth. ๐Ÿ™‚
P.S. Both Charlotte and I think you’re a good fit to be a PP admin, but we’ll reach out to you separately about that. Thanks lady. ๐Ÿ™‚ xoxo

  • Aren’t the tiny ones adorable?! I’ve always wanted to get a succulent habitat thing in those bowls but I kill plants and flowers like you wouldn’t believe. BUT, apparently, you only need to mist succulents about once a month so how could I go wrong?! (watch me kill them in no time!)
Charlie is indeed one of the biggest hams and suckballs you’ll ever meet. We sometimes call him Gene, as in Gene Simmons because he has such a long tongue and he loves giving kisses, especially unsuspecting ones. lol!
I hate pitching – I always feel so damn stupid/dumb. “Hey!! Send me some free shit in exchange for me writing a post about you. Cool? Cool.” I wish it was that easy. You participate in campaigns and other opportunities don’t you? I mean, aren’t you even one of the Netflix families or whatever you call it? How’d you score that, girl? That’s pretty big!
I hope you’re doing well Kimberly. It’s a grey day today but boy was it ever sunny and hot earlier in the week. ๐Ÿ™‚ xoxo!

  • Thanks babes! It’s one of my faves now and I have it on my background on my iPhone. ๐Ÿ™‚
I hope you’re having a great week love. xoxox

  • Thanks Lauren. It’s been such a relief this time around with his recovery. He’s such a strong little guy. ๐Ÿ™‚
I hope you’re having a great week, love. xo

  • Always. Big or small, there are always opportunities for growth and gratitude. ๐Ÿ™‚
I hope you’re having a great week hun. xo
