Charlie Update – Two Week Post-Op Update 4

Charlie post-surgery

It’s high time for a Charlie update, am I right?!  Time is flying you guys and in the case of Charlie’s recovery, that is good news!  He’s healing super quickly and we couldn’t be happier where he’s at.

Here he is at 14 and 15 days post-op — doesn’t he look incredible?  His stitches came out on Monday morning and he will be going back on August 9th for a consultation with his surgeon and it is at this time that we’ll get the all-clear to begin rehab and hydrotherapy.

Charlie and his pal, Lily (front). She and Charlie both had CCL surgery two years ago on the same day, so they totally get eachother when one of them is hurt.

Charlie Update Apart from a bit of redness from cleaning/licking it, his scars have healed and it doesn’t look like he had stitches only 14 days ago, right?

Charlie post-surgery Baxter

Isn’t this guy just adorable?  Baxter has been such a good brother to Charlie, visiting with him every night at my mom’s with us.

There’s no doubt that he misses him, though.  Soon enough, Charlie will be back home for good.  Just with us working and out of the house for 11 hours a day, I can’t have Charlie crated for that long and not able to go pee, eat and get water, so he’s staying with my mother, who’s retired, and she’s a godsend.  I don’t know what we’d do without her.

Have a great Thursday my friends!

  • OMG!!! he looks great! Awwww, he’s so stinkin’ adorable 🙂 I’m so glad to hear he’s recovering so nicely and THANK GOD you have your momma to step in and help out where needed–seriously, sounds like she’s been very beneficial during this time (and a familiar face for little Charlie… it would suck for him to recover somewhere where he doesn’t know anyone, ya know?).

Sending him all the XOXOs 🙂

  • What an adorable little dude Charlie is. And he looks happy and great!

I’m so glad he’s recovering so well, and that things are going so smoothly, post-op. I’m sorry Baxter misses him so, but it sounds as though they will see each other again soon. 🙂

    Thanks for the update, Lindsay!

  • It would be awful having him somewhere else, someone else caring for him… my mom left for the D.R. Yesterday so my step dad is looking after him during the week, thankfully.

Three weeks, one day post op now!!! 🙂 🙂

  • He’s such a ham, Kevin, you have no idea. He’s doing wonderful and he’s happy, getting lost of rest.
Baxter comes over to see him in the evenings and on the weekends, we bring him home and I tell you, instant mood change. Everyone is bouncy and so content looking when everyone is home and all is right in the world. 🙂
