What’s up, Weekend? 19

What's up weekend?

Happy Friday and Welcome to the ‘What’s up, Weekend’ Friday Link Up!

Welcome to the revamped link-up that Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog, and I host call, ‘What’s up, Weekend?’  Christina no longer hosts our link up as she is busy with life and other personal things.  She may come back, I don’t know but not to worry, we’re all still close and everything is as good as ever.

For over the last two and a half years, Fridays have always been (and always will be) a place where I reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week. To expand upon that, this link-up is now open to any post that relates to happy things, happy lists, gratitude lists, faves of the week or it could also be your practice to greet the weekend with a bang/open arms. Whatever your choice is, have fun with it. But please remember that any links that are just simply “dumped” or if your blog post does not mesh with our theme, it will be deleted.

For me personally, sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that have made me grateful or appreciative during the week. We live in a world full of conflict, disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – you name it. Reflecting on the positive, I personally find, makes me more mindful, gracious and appreciative of all things, big and small.

You can be having the worst of weeks but I always, always manage to find things to be happy or grateful for. So, I hope writing out your lists makes you happy, too!

What's up, Wednesday?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

Grateful and Happy things of the Week:

1.  Watching a Blue Heron soar in the sky right above me, then land in a pond to feed early last Saturday morning.  It was just beautiful watching it silently hunt for his breakfast.

2.  My pet clients!  It was so nice to get back and catch up with the regulars and new clients, too.

3. Charlie was home last weekend for another weekend at home and this makes Jeff, Baxter and I so happy.  It’s an instant mood changer having him home, happy and content.

4. Netflix’s Ozark with Jason Bateman.  Freaking awesome!!

5. I met a 3 month old American Eskimo this past week and an 8 week old black lab and boy wer they ever adorable!

6. Visiting with mom before she left for her two week Dominican trip with my aunt.

7. A massage. Turns out my right glute is jammed and my right ankle is crunchy.  Is this what getting older is all about? Lol!

8.  Starbucks Cool Lime Refreshers.  They’re so good!

9.  Warrantied Otterbox cases for our iPhones. An otterbox case is a must for a klutz like myself. lol

10.  Getting all my comments and blog reading and emails to people squared up earlier than usual. It’s such a good feeling!!

11.  Looking forward to seeing Methodman and Redman at the Toronto Festival of Beer.

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

Like I said above. I’m going to see Methodman and Redman at The Toronto Festival of Beer tonight and then tomorrow morning, we are going to pick up Charlie from my step-dad and probably have a pretty low-key rest of the weekend…

What about YOU? What do you have planned for this weekend? Take care friends! πŸ™‚

And I totally feel the same way with catching up to blog comments/emails. It is such a good feeling, isn’t it?

That’s great you were able to get a massage. My brother’s gf gifted me with a spa certificate for my birthday back in APRIL and I still haven’t made the appointment. Thanks for the reminder–getting older sucked, but I’m hoping that getting some of those areas massaged helped immensely πŸ™‚

Also loved seeing the pic of you all together again. That’s the best. Hope you have a great weekend, my sweet pea! Sending all my love!

  • Yay you had a great week! A massage sounds devine. I need one in the worst way! I’ll have to check out Ozark on Netflix, I like Jason Bateman. The Beer festival sounds fun, I hope you have a great time!!

  • Penny @ pennyspassion.blogspot

We are hooked on Ozark also!! We live not far from the actual Ozarks and that’s why we originally started watching. Jason Bateman is doing a fab job acting and directing.

I’m glad that Charlie is doing so well! I hope you have a great time tonight! I don’t really have weekend plans – probably try and get out of the house a bit more and move around, since it’s been a week from my surgery.

I have seen the previews for Ozark and wanted to check it out. I am going to now that I read this!! So many great things to feel good about this week.

  • I wouldn’t survive without my Otterbox! One of the greatest inventions ever!
Crunchy ankles……hmmm. I’m sure I could come up with a body part or two I could use that description on. Happy Friday!

  • The Toronto Festival of Beer sounds awesome! Can’t wait to hear about the show. I just heard about Ozark, and want to see it. I just finished watching Friends from College on Netflix, which was pretty good. Have a fantastic weekend!

  • I’ve had a heron fly right over me, too. You’re so right — it was magical! The Festival of Beer sounds great. So awesome that you get to see Method Man live in concert.

Ozark … so many people have told me it’s a must-watch, so it’s on our list. πŸ™‚

  • Glad Charlie is doing well and could spend the weekend at home.
Massages are great – hope it helps and your ankle feels better soon.

  • Me too girl! I just LOVE Jessica’s eyes and red hair – she’s such a pretty, positive, uplifting soul. πŸ™‚

Dude, you have no excuses! Book an appointment!! Lol

Ugh I’m so over today so I’ll keep it short and sweet because I’m a curmudgeon at the moment. LMAO

  • The massage was so nice! I wish it was my entire body but I only got my lower half done. I’ve buggered up my ankle and it’s starting to affect my quad and hip/butt so I’m trying to nip that in the bud before it gets worse.
You’ll LOVE Ozark. I thought of you while at the beer festival. ;). Xo

  • It’s really pretty in the Ozarks eh? Hopefully youve finished the show by now. I’m undecided how they ended it? And I haven’t checked to see if there is a season 2 planned.

  • How are you feeling since surgery hun? Still slowly recovering or feeling much better?

  • I hope you went and checked out Jason Bateman’s latest and greatest. πŸ™‚
I’m so happy tomorrow is Friday. I’m zonked and this week has been a doozy. I hope your week has been good to you. πŸ™‚

  • Aren’t those cases the best? It’s funny, when I crack them and have ordered replacements, it never fails, I end up dropping it and throwing it much more, it’s like it’s butter in my hands. Lol

LOL! Do you have crunchy body parts too? My ankle is crunchy and quite literally, I have a pain in my ass – a pulled muscle. Lol

  • Hey girl, the festival and show were good, although I almost lost it on a couple of dudes flailing their arms all over the place. I felt one guy’s elbow touch my eyelashes, I’m like OH HELL NO. Jeff made me move so I didn’t go ninja on anyone. πŸ˜‰

Friends from College is good, eh? We watched that a few weeks ago I believe.

  • I actually had one fly super low over the car later in the day and it was so majestic. And they stand stock still in the water when they’re looking for fish. πŸ™‚ We get a lot around here, some even find small residential ponds and eat all the koi and fish! Lol

I’d never seen Meth or Red live before but Jeff had and said they haven’t changed a bit and are every bit as good today compared to how they were in the 90s. It was a good time. πŸ™‚

    How’s your week been, Kevin?

  • Me too. I’m bringing him home later tonight and he’ll be with us til Monday night, I can’t wait. πŸ™‚

Thanks hun. Ankle feels a bit better but I’ve got some exercises to do. My problem is taking it easy at the gym, but if I don’t take care of myself now, recovery will be much longer so I had better take my own advice. πŸ™‚

I hope your week has been good, hun. Xo

    I’m doing better! Not 100% but I think I’m close. πŸ™‚
