What’s up, Weekend? 22

What's up weekend?

Happy Friday and Welcome to the ‘What’s up, Weekend’ Friday Link Up!

Welcome to the Happy Friday link-up that Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog, Beth from The Beth Next Door and I host call, ‘What’s up, Weekend?’  Christina is no longer hosting our link up as she is busy with life and other personal things at the moment. She may come back, I don’t know but not to worry, we are all still close and everything is as good as ever.

For over the last two and a half years, Fridays have always been (and always will be) a place where I reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week. To expand upon that, this link-up is now open to any post that relates to happy things, happy lists, gratitude lists, faves of the week or it could also be your practice to greet the weekend with a bang/open arms. Whatever your choice is, have fun with it. But please remember that any links that are just simply “dumped” or if your blog post does not mesh with our theme, it will be deleted.

For me personally, sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that have made me grateful or appreciative during the week. We live in a world full of conflict, disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – you name it. Reflecting on the positive, I personally find, makes me more mindful, gracious and appreciative of all things, big and small.

You can be having the worst of weeks but I always, always manage to find things to be happy or grateful for. So, I hope writing out your lists makes you happy, too!

What's up, Wednesday?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

Grateful and Happy things of the Week:

1.  Date night with my love.

2.  Having our friend Bruce over for an evening and hearing all about his cross-Canada honeymoon.

3.  I’m happiest when all my boys are under one roof. Charlie was home last weekend and he’s already with us now until Monday. *happy dance*

Charlie post-surgery

4.  I had some pretty good sweat sessions at the gym this week that left me feeling pretty damn good. 🙂

5.  Summer evenings that are perfect for cycling or going for a brisk walk with Baxter.

6.  Sunsets this week have been stunning, with colours that remind me of cotton candy- pinks and purples galore.

7.  Vanilla bean Greek yogurt.

8.  Running into an old coworker, Florence, I hadn’t seen in ages and catching up with her before work one morning this past week. She was an articling student with us and the sweetest/funniest woman.

9.  Long weekends and short weeks. I’m off on a four-day long weekend, then I’m back to work on Tuesday and off for another six days. Sweet deal!

10.  Meeting new people and helping new folks out at work. Complimenting people and offering your help means the world to people and is rare these days. Try it. 🙂

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

Four weekend, woop woop!  I’m off until Tuesday and Charlie is home for the weekend already (I picked him up last night).  I have a couple of pet visits this weekend that I’m helping out with and I want to hit up the local farmers market, the dry cleaners, get a bike ride or two in and pack for our trip up north to Jeff’s Dad’s next Tuesday night.

What about YOU? What do you have planned for this weekend? Take care friends! 🙂

  • Confession: I am not daring enough to try greek yogurt in any other flavour than plain…and that’s because I eat it as sour cream. I know. I’m weird.
I adore how August for us Canadians is almost like cramming in every single holiday away ever. I hope that you have fun on your mini get away!!

  • Kim Munoz

Holy days off! Thats awesome. Whatcha gonna do? I’ve been out of touch lately. Have you noticed that these days so many people can’t take a compliment. Maybe I am complimenting the wrong people LOL Confession time, I made it to the gym not even once this week, but still hit all my fit bit goals with yard work and cleaning does that count. Have a great weekend love! Give the boys hugs and lots of belly rubs!

  • Corey Wheeland

Yes to summer evenings! I’m going to miss them when they’re gone… Hope you enjoy all your upcoming time off! 🙂

  • A long weekend sounds lovely!

  • Charlie’s smile makes US smile. So freaking cute!

I hear ya about long weekends. I enjoyed the three-day weekend I just had. And I’m taking another one starting Friday. Woohoo!

  • I never used to write things that made me happy or what I’m grateful for, but I’ve found since doing them, im a heck of a lot more positive. And that alone is reason enough to keep it going, plus I also love reading others, too. 🙂
I hope your week has been good to you, Sheryl!

  • Girl, I’m not big on flavors, I usually ONLY eat vanilla yogurt but vanilla bean Greek is DEVINE. It’s got such a nice flavor and it’s so creamy. Try it and you’ll thank me later homie. 😉
August is definitely crunch time, well before Labor Day right. We try and do as much as we can because it’s like old man winter is never far from our reach, so we jam jam jam! Lol

Charlie is such a happy boy eh? Helps he’s so positive and he’s got such a will. We start hydro with him next week and I cannot wait!! 😉

I hope you’re having a good week my dear. Love ya
Trip up north is good thus far, but family shit, man I tell you, that’s one thing – you can pick your friends but your family, that’s for life. We’re just super disappointed with some shit with regards to Jeff’s dad. Like straight up Jerry Springer, not even kidding you. It’s just…. frustrating.

I hope you’re having a good week my dear. Love ya! xo

  • Thank our my friend. There’s so much negative and crap, it’s nice to focus on the good, you know? Reminds me that all in this world is not shite. Lol 😉

  • I totally did not get to the farmers market last weekend, I slept in hardcore and then dragged my ass past 1, which is when it ends. My bad. Lol. Hopefully I’ll get to it next weekend when I’m back home as I’m up north til Monday.
I hope you have a fab weekend my friend! 😉 xo

  • Oh hope my gosh, winter always comes much too soon. Ugh. Lol

  • Hey Momma,
It goes a long way for sure. My biggest thing is fluffing off compliments when I shouldn’t when if I’m just flustered, I should just say thanks, instead of negating it, you know? I have to learn to accept them more, that’s for sure.

Ugh gotta go. Jeff and his dad are literally biting eachothers heads off. Fml. 🙁 I just want to go home and it’s only Thursday. We leave Sunday night. Kill me now!

  • Me too, lovey. He’ll be home full time soon, just a bit longer at my moms so he can be supervise and doesn’t foolishly hurt himself while he’s at home during the day and were at work. He starts rehab next week and I’m so happy about that!! 🙂
    xo

  • And you saying that makes me smile. 🙂

Enjoy your long weekend my dear! 🙂

  • Last weekend was at home with the dogs and Tuesday night til Sunday, were up north putting together and running a target shooting competition for over 100 people. Sunday night and Monday will be at home resting. We’ve been in work mode since we’ve been up here and then dealing with BS with Jeff’s dad, yeah that’s fun times. Gotta love family bullshit.
Good for you getting all your fitness goals completed without stepping foot in the gym. That’s better than not moving at all love. 🙂
The boys send their love babes. Xoxo

  • sending you so much love, muffin <3 <3 <3
