What's up weekend?

Happy Friday and Welcome to the ‘What’s up, Weekend?’ Friday Link Up!

Welcome to the Happy Friday link-up that Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog, Beth from The Beth Next Door and I host call, ‘What’s up, Weekend?’  Christina is no longer hosting our link up as she is busy with life and other personal things at the moment. She may come back, I don’t know but not to worry, we are all still close and everything is as good as ever.

For over the last two and a half years, Fridays have always been (and always will be) a place where I reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week. To expand upon that, this link-up is now open to any post that relates to happy things, happy lists, gratitude lists, faves of the week or it could also be your practice to greet the weekend with a bang/open arms. Whatever your choice is, have fun with it. But please remember that any links that are just simply “dumped” or if your blog post does not mesh with our theme, it will be deleted.

For me personally, sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that have made me grateful or appreciative during the week. We live in a world full of conflict, disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – you name it. Reflecting on the positive, I personally find, makes me more mindful, gracious and appreciative of all things, big and small.

You can be having the worst of weeks but I always, always manage to find things to be happy or grateful for. So, I hope writing out your lists makes you happy, too!

What's up, Wednesday?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

Grateful and Happy things of the Week:

1.  Family time.

2.  Bathtime for the dogs. I love me some fresh smelling, clean puppies.

3.  Donuts. Gosh I love donuts.  Is there anyone out there that doesn’t like donuts? Let’s be real here. 🙂

4.  A neat and tidy home.  Everything clean, orderly and in its OCD-place makes me a happy girl.  It’s SO nice to come home when you’ve been away and your home is clean. One less thing to stress about.

5.  Afternoon naps with my two fur-kids wrapped around my body and in my arms. <3

6.  Quiet evening walks with my pet clients in sleepy little neighbourhoods.

7.  Iced coffees.

8.  Free time to myself.

9.  A moon so big and bright, it lit up the country road on our way to Jeff’s dad’s house.  It was gorgeous!

10.  Relaxing in the sunshine with Jeff on a Wednesday afternoon. #vacation

What's up, weekend?

11.  Giggling in the dark, in bed, moments before we fall asleep. #priceless

12.  This little guy.  It’s nice to have this four-legged friend when we’re visiting Jeff’s dad up north.

What's up, weekend?

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

I’m am (still) up north and will be until Sunday night, then back home and rest on Monday before we go back to work Tuesday.  It has been SO nice to be off this past week (except for Tuesday) even though we’ve been busting our butts trying to get the gun club prepped for the big tournament this weekend.

What about YOU? What do you have planned for this weekend?

Take care my friends! 🙂

A neat, tidy house is the best! It’s been a while since every room in our house has been clean at the same time and, I have to admit, it’s starting to drive me a little crazy! Have a great weekend!

  • Donuts sure are my weakness! I could totally live on them if it was possible to not gain 200 pounds from it lol. Also having a tidy house is always a nice feeling, especially after a trip! Happy weekend!

  • Kim Munoz

Our best conversations come right before David falls asleep! hahaha. Cleaning before we leave for a few days is a must. Unpacking is messy enough! Glad you had lots of 4 legged lovin and clean pups. Poncho needs a bath soon. He needs a spa day actually. Its an all day affair lol Ill take a maple donut too 🙂

  • Jessica Bradshaw

I LOVE having my house all clean. It makes it so nice to come home to after a long day of work. Also, donuts. Yes. Chocolate and sprinkles are my weakness.

  • I have a thing for donuts too…, the town we are looking to live to has a popular donut shop and I tried their Butterfinger flavor last time and it was seriously to die for. Mmmm… yea, who are these non donut eating aliens?!

Good luck at the tournament this weekend and hope everything goes well!!

Gosh, you guys are cute!! Love the pictures and that cute pup 🙂 xoxo

  • shootingstarsmag

I’m glad you’re having a nice vacation! I LOVE napping with my dog. She loves to cuddle, so it’s nice. 🙂

Mmm….donuts. There are a few donut shops around me where they have such fun, customized donuts.

  • donuts! shipley’s chocolate covered ones. yummy. :]

  • Right there with ya on the clean house thing! It’s usually not as clean as I’d like it to be and that kind of gives me anxiety lol.

  • Divya Budhraja

YES to donuts. A new donut place opened up around here and they are quite honestly the best I’ve ever had. They’re simple, but delicious.

  • You’re spot on about donuts, Lindsay. I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t love them!

And the giggling in the dark, right before falling asleep. Yes to that, too. Except for when we start laughing so hard it keeps us up for awhile longer. 😀

I’m thankful for the fun and restful three-day weekend we just had: visited a new and beautiful nature preserve/retreat center AND the beach on Friday; and volunteered at the shelter yesterday (when we found out that Morticia, one of our favorite long-timer kitties, had been adopted … yay!). Of course, all with my partner in crime and better half … life is good. 🙂

Hope you’re having a great weekend!

  • I love that picture of you and Jeff! You look so happy. 🙂 It sounds like you had a great week!

Seeing a bright moon always makes me happy, too. And you know how I feel about furry friends. 🙂

  • Hope you’re getting some rest today! Sounds like a wonderful week, and I loved seeing all your pictures. Now, I want a donut!

  • Yes to donuts, I love donuts so much!! I hope you had a good weekend, I am sorry I missed the link up on Friday, I meant to get it up and just didn’t have a chance before I ducked out of town. I’ll be back this week though 🙂

  • San

Ok, you’ll be surprised to hear… I am not a fan of donuts. They’re way too sweet for me. It might be because most sweet treats in Germany are less sweet than here in the US (think cakes, pastries, etc.) and therefore I am not used to that massive sugar overload.
Iced coffee is the best, though. 🙂

  • Coffee has never been my thing, even the iced ones. I used to smuggle Pepsi Max into coffee mugs when I’d take the girls to school. I think I fit in and no one noticed.

  • Just saying HI and that I miss you and hope all is well in your neck o’ the woods. MUAH!!!

  • I love Friday’s too but for other reasons. I actually don’t get around to reading people’s Friday’s posts until two days later, at least, and it’s mostly because I try to unplug on Friday nights and weekends as much as possible. But I do love reading things that people are grateful for, or things that have made them happy during the week.
I think time to yourself is so important for your soul and self development. I particularly enjoy it because I’m an only child, but in contrast, I love being surrounded by people, too.

I hope your week has been great, girl! xo

  • Agreed, although I feel like a tornado has gone through our condo this week. So much crap and clutter! I started making a list this morning of all the things that need to be put away, purged or organized. Holy moly!
    I hope you’re having a great week, Penny! 🙂

  • Me too! LOL. Moderation and balance, Trish. hahaha.
I hope you’re having a great week hun, xo

  • Me too, but a week later and it looks like a bomb went off in our condo. LOL. Ugh, you should see my to do list.
I hope your week has been good to you hun. xo

  • I loveeeee donuts, doesn’t matter what kind or flavor, they’re ALL good. Okay, except for the plain, dry ones. No thank you. The butterfinger donut sounds delicious – can you believe I only just tried a butterfinger maybe a month or two ago? I know, I’m living under a rock it seems. LOL
Tournament went well and the weather cooperated for us. Overall, I think there were 93 competitors and so many people have great things to say about it – that it just gets better year after year. I don’t think Jeff’s dad will be helping out with next year’s – he’s so disengaged, he’d be hindrance, frankly.
Thank you my love. <3 I hope your week has been good. I'll be grateful once Friday arrives… 😉 xoxo

  • We don’t have Shipley’s here in Canada. 🙁

  • I think I get the best, soundest sleep when I’ve got one or both of my dogs snuggling with me for a snooze. 🙂
I hope your week has been good, Lauren. 🙂

  • Oh my gosh, a tornado has gone through our condo this week, with bringing everything home from the tournament. My to do list is ridic and I’ve been so busy this week in the evenings AND I’m working my pet sitting job this weekend. AKA no time. lol. Oh well, I’ll do what I can, no biggie. Clutter drives me NUTS and gives me mad anxiety. Ugh!
    I hope you’re having a great week hun. 🙂

  • Ooooh, that’s dangerous girl! Live it up, we only live one, remember. 😉

  • Jeff and I are often like that in bed, cackling like little kids. We especially did this while we were camping, either going to bed or when we woke every single morning, like clockwork, at 4 am. We’ve had some pretty interesting conversations at that hour, let me tell you. LOL!
Your weekend of fun and rest sounds AMAZING! Adding to that, a kitty cat gets adopted, that’s more reason to celebrate. That’s such great news to hear. 🙂 Give your wife my best (if she has any clue who I am or if she’s seen me typing to you before). 🙂
I work this weekend pet sitting, what about you? Do you work this weekend?
Take care and talk soon, Kevin. 🙂

  • Thanks so much Crystal. We typically take ridic photos where one of us is usually making a face. Rarely, do we ever have nicer pics, so this one I love for sure. 🙂
Stay tuned for next week – I have a crazy pet sitting weekend lined up. I hope you and Mina are doing wonderful, hun. 🙂 xo

  • Monday was indeed a rest day and holy shit, we were so grateful for booking the additional day off. It seems that everything caught up with us by Monday and we literally did nothing (except go get the dogs from my mom’s house).
Did you eat your donut yet? 😉
I hope your week has been busy but good my dear. xxo

  • Don’t worry my dear, heck, look at me, replying to blog comments 6 days after I posted it. I’m the bad one! I’m just thankful you are here. 🙂
I hope you had a good weekend and your week has been good to you. 🙂

  • I’m shocked. No just kidding. Are you just simply not a fan of sugar or just donuts specifically? Everything in North America is SO sweet. In Europe, sweet seems to have a different kind of definition compared to North America. At least that’s what I think. 🙂
I hope your week has been good hun. xo

  • That’s cool but that’s something I could never fathom doing, cracking a can of pop (Canadians say pop LOL) in the morning. For some reason, that just makes me cringe. LOL
No one would know otherwise, whether it’d be coffee, or vodka, whatever the preference may be. 🙂

  • Hey babes xox I miss you love

  • I just booked Baxter for the groomers on the 28th and well, Charlie, who knows. I’ve got to see how rehab goes. He can go get groomed but I don’t want him at the groomers for 6 hours. That’ll exhaust him, but man he needs a hair cut. LOL..
I hope your week has been good babes, I’m so busy this week, I feel like I’m drowning!!

  • San

I think it’s partly that I am not a fan of sugar (I prefer salty snacks overall) and that the sweet treats I do like are definitely less sweet than most things you get here (e.g. donuts) 🙂
I hope you have a great week, too, lovely.
