Three Reasons My Dog is the Queen of the House {Guest Post} 20

I’d LOVE to introduce you to a lovely gal I met through our Peaceful Posee Facebook group, Ms. Lauren Becker.  Her and I both share a love for our beloved family pets so I thought it would be great to have her here and share some blogger love.  Take it away, Lauren!

I have one dog named Luana – she’ll be 15 this December. By looking at her, it’s easy to see the Alaskan Husky, but she’s not full-bred. One of her veterinarians has said they believe she might have wolf in her, and I could see that, but at any rate, she’s a cutie-pie! She is also very much the queen of the house, and I’m here to share the top 3 reasons why!

My Dog is the Queen

She Sleeps in My Parents Bed – Every Night

A lot of people keep their dogs in another room, and while my parents tried this the night we bought Luana, it didn’t last long. She was a puppy and away from her sister for the first time, so she immediately started crying. Fifteen years later and Luana still sleeps in my parent’s bed every single night. She even tends to push my mom to the edge of the bed most nights, as she makes herself comfortable. Everyone else just has to fold themselves around Luana.

There is a Routine to Leaving the House

Whenever we all leave the house – for example, in the morning for work – we have a specific routine that we do to make sure that she’s comfortable. We either turn on the TV or the radio so that there is noise while we’re away. We make sure that her special red blanket is laid out on the couch so she can lay on it. Sometimes we even put one of my dad’s shirts on the bed if she wants to lay on that – we assume she’s like a baby and enjoys the scent since my dad is by far her favorite member of the family. Finally, we place a few treats around the house for her to find. One of her actual dog bed, one on my parent’s bed, and one on the red blanket she loves so much.

She Understands the Word Nap– and Loves Them!

My dog is obsessed with naps. If anyone in the house wants to take one, all they to do is say “Luana, want to take a nap?” and she’s following you to lay down. While she’ll often lay on the other side of the bed, she sometimes likes to cuddle up right next to you as you sleep.

My Dog is the Queen

These are the top three reasons I consider my dog the queen of the house, but there are definitely many more. We definitely treat her like the baby of the family, despite being almost 15 years old. She’s just too cute not to, right?
