A Sentence a Day – September Edition 11

Sentence a Day - September Edition

Earlier this spring, I stumbled upon Julie’s blog, Julie’s Touch of Style, through our Peaceful Posse Facebook group in one of the daily blog threads and I kind of fell in love with the idea of summarizing each day of the month with one or two sentences, hence the name A Sentence A Day. April’s Sentence a Day post is here if you’d like to read it, May’s is hereJune’s is here, July’s is here and lastly, August’s is here.

Leslie is kind enough to organize the link up and it opens up the first Thursday of each and every month. So if you feel like playing along for October, you’d better get started.

Sentence a Day - September Edition

The key thing you need to ask yourself is this: If someone asked you how your September was, what would you tell them? And so, this post idea was born.

Let’s get started:

Friday, September 1, 2017 – Jeff picked me up downtown from work and later on in the evening, I had my usual cat visit with Bella and Stella.  Afterwards, I took both of the dogs out for a solo walk each and we also ended up looking after our friend Dina’s two dogs, Stella and Lily for a few hours.  Stella and Lily are the boys’ girlfriends. 🙂

Saturday, September 2, 2017 – I slept in like a champ today then went to visit Stella and Bella.  In the evening, we went out for Dina’s 50th birthday.

Sunday, September 3, 2017 – I had my cat visit this morning and then afterwards, we went on a drive/road trip/photo op through Caledon and the area.  Later on, we walked the dogs and watched American Grit.

Wednesday, September 6, 2017 – I was super tired today and work sucked.  We went home in the evening to retrieve more things we hadn’t brought over to my mom’s the night before.  We later had dinner, walked the dogs and before long, it was time for bed.

Thursday, September 7, 2017 – What a busy night.  Charlie had rehab after work, then came home to dinner on the stove courtesy of Jeff. Later on, Mom FaceTimed me from down in Barbados, which was so nice because you could hear the steel drums playing in the background.

Friday, September 8, 2017 – What a brutal week at work; I was so glad when it was time to head home for the weekend and not have to think about any of that for a solid 60 hours.  We watched tv tonight with the dogs and tracked Hurricane Irma much like the rest of the world, I’m sure.  We also talked to my Mom on FaceTime.  (She’s fine and not in Irma’s path.)

Tuesday, September 26, 2017 – Another crazy hot day, I was whiney and grouchy for no reason at all.  We made pasta in the Instant Pot and then took the dogs for a walk before reading and bedtime.

Wednesday, September 27, 2017 – Mom came over to get the dogs tonight so she can take Charlie to hydrotherapy tomorrow morning.  Jeff went out clay shooting with a buddy of his right after work, taking advantage of few hours of sunlight we have before it gets dark.

Thursday, September 28, 2017 – The end of our fiscal quarter is coming up and that means I’m super busy at work.  Charlie had hydrotherapy with my mom this morning and she picked me up after work with the dogs and took me home.  A quiet night at home.

Friday, September 29, 2017 – Came home from a hectic day to Jeff making us dinner in the Instant Pot.  He was trying so hard and all I was doing was being a grouch.  I think September was the month of stress and grouchiness.  I’m eager to move on from September.

I’ll be back next month to recap my October.

Have a great day my friends!

  • I love that you say it was a beautiful evening a lot!! That’s a good thing!
And here’s to the end of grouchiness–LOL

  • I appreciate your genuineness and honesty. Relationships I have been in aren’t always a bed of roses. And I can be a royal grump. Which is a recurring theme of my relationships, too. So I am glad to read that I am not alone. Hoping your October is less stressful and upbeat.

Are you kitty-sitting? I have a dear friend who sits my kitties for us. We were in Germany last week and Lorena checked on my girls everyday. Now we are headed to Phoenix and she will step in to look after Purrsimmony and Purrsnickitty again while we are gone. I hate having to leave them because they get very dejected when we are gone, despite Lorena’s care.

Is an Instapot like a crockpot? I use my crockpot constantly. We would starve if I didn’t have it to make cooking dinner easier. Your roast looks delicious.

  • Your honesty is great – I battle to sometimes admit when I’m being a grumpy pants. September was a super moody month for me – cannot explain it any better than that.
Your roast looks delicious and your other pictures are great – these posts are always lovely – a summary of a month 🙂

  • Deb’s World

You sound like you were glad to get out of September!! Hope October is being kinder to you 🙂

  • I suppose there are worse things to say repeatedly. 😉
Here’s to a muss less grouchy October.. 🙂 take care my friend!

  • September was not pretty; needless to say October was welcome with open arms. 🙂

  • Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment. I can be grouchy and bring my work stress home with me, and then it seems everything compounds on that exacerbating the whole pile. I’m glad to hear that IM not alone, too. 😉

I am kitty sitting. I’m a part time pet sitter/dog walker, always working at least one weekend a month, but I’ve been looking after two tabbys and seeing them daily since August. Their dad is away for work and we’ve been making twice a day trips, plus the guys parents visit the cats every day or every other. They’re such lovely cats, were really quite likely. It’s nice to have in home care when you go away eh? That’s too bad they still get stressed despite Lorena. We see cats and dogs like that all the time, stressed and apprehensive of us.

The Instant Pot is like an electronic, idiot proof pressure cooker BUT it can be used as a slow cooker, to sauté, to bake. It’s pretty cool, actually. I’m amazed what you can make in it!!

  • Oh that’s one thing I’m good at, is voicing my opinion. I can be blunt but I’m honest to a fault.
I’m glad September is over with, finally. I’m looking forward to November, in all actuality. I’m going to the spa and a weekend away with some girlfriends and cannot wait. 🙂

Thank you my dear, you’re so sweet and thoughtful. xoxox

  • I thought I commented on this, but I guess I never did! I love this prompt so much and it’s lovely to see your photos of the month. Charlie’s progress always warms my heart. Always love your dog (and really, any animal!) photos 🙂 I’m glad that month is over, too, and here’s to a much better October!

Also the pic of Charlie helping is one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen 🙂

  • Morning love,
I really enjoy these sentence a day posts, which is why I’ve continued doing them. I enjoy them and it’s a nice way to reflect. It was so nice talking ton you last night; we need to make a point out of chatting like that more often. 🙂

Isn’t that pic of Charlie helping me sort bills adorable? Lol ;). xoxox Love you!

  • I loved our chat last night, too, and look forward to the next one 🙂 Sending so much <3 <3 <3 your way, sweet friend!
