What’s up, Weekend? {10/13} 23

What's up weekend?

Happy Friday and Welcome to the ‘What’s up, Weekend?’ Friday Link Up!

Welcome to the Happy Friday link-up that Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog, Beth from The Beth Next Door and I host call, ‘What’s up, Weekend?’

For three years now, Fridays have always been (and always will be) a place where I reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week. To expand upon that, this link-up is now open to any post that relates to happy things, happy lists, gratitude lists, faves of the week or it could also be your practice to greet the weekend with a bang/open arms. Whatever your choice is, have fun with it. But please remember that any links that are just simply “dumped” or if your blog post does not mesh with our theme, it will be deleted.

For me personally, sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that have made me grateful or appreciative during the week. We live in a world full of conflict, disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – you name it. Reflecting on the positive, I personally find, makes me more mindful, gracious and appreciative of all things, big and small.

You can be having the worst of weeks but I always, always manage to find things to be happy or grateful for. So, I hope writing out your lists makes you happy, too!

What's up, Wednesday?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

Grateful and Happy things of the Week:

  • Homecoming kisses.  Whether I’ve just taken the garbage out, gone to work, been away for two weeks, the kisses and happy tails I get from the dogs is something I cherish and look forward to every single day.  How could wagging tails not make you happy, am I right?
  • Jeff cleared out and I cleaned out our entire patio over the weekend and it’s like a whole new space.  We both love sitting out in the evenings and got rid of the clunky patio furniture.
  • Fall colours.

Fall 2017

  • Celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends last week.  And the cherry on top?  It was a three-day long weekend. 🙂
  • Looking after these cuties:

Stella and Bella

  • Playing with out friends’ Chihuahuas! One of them is 4 months old. (no pics, he was too squirmy.)

  • Evening chats on my pet sitting boss’ porch.
  • Pinks and purple at dawn and the fog rising in the fields on my way into Toronto in the mornings.  On my hour train ride, the views are pretty gorgeous and some mornings I’m lucky enough to spot a deer or wild turkeys.
  • Quiet and stillness.
  • Talking to my mom 64 times a day.  I just love my mom so much and even if I don’t see her, we always talk to each other multiple times of day.
  • Naps on the train to and from work.  I think the rocking motion relaxes me and I always wake feeling refreshed no matter if it’s 5 minutes or a 30 minute nap.

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

I’m working my pet sitting job this weekend and hopefully it’ll be fairly easygoing.  Stay tuned for a recap of my October pet sitting adventures sometime next week.  Other than that, I’ve got nothing else planned.

What about YOU? What do you have planned for this weekend?

Have a great weekend my friends! 🙂

I’m really looking forward to the fall colors. Our trees are just starting to turn. Hopefully the next few weeks will be beautiful!

  • Your pictures are lovely.
Quiet and stillness – makes me feel relaxed just reading that 🙂
That is great that you can chill on your patio – awesome way to wind down in the evenings.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  • Hi my sweet friend <3

I love that you have such a close relationship with your momma. So many don't and it breaks my heart. I'm not sure what I would do without mine, truthfully.

And yes–it's the best part of having pets, isn't it? I love that Buster is SO EXCITED whenever I walk in, regardless of the length of time I was out 🙂 It's the best feeling in the world.

Yay for Jeff taking care of some things around the place (Bryan did too, and I wanted to give him a physical award to thank him for cleaning up, lol). It's nice when it's one less thing to worry about.

Awww, the pic of the two cats (and chihuahua!) made me smile. So cute and precious 🙂 Have a lovely weekend, my dear!

Aw, that’s awesome you talk to your mom so much. My mom is one of my best friends so I understand that!!

Yay for fall colors – I’m loving what little I’m starting to see. I hope the leaves really start changing soon. Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving and a three day weekend! those are the best, aren’t they?

  • Hi lovely lady! I am loving the Fall colors too! They make me so happy! I’m loving all your animal pictures, that one of the two cats made me laugh, the one cat looks like he’s telling you what’s up, lol. I have a good relationship with my mom too! It’s nice to be able to talk to her about anything. I hope you have a wonderful weekend my sweet!

  • There is nothing better than homecoming kisses, especially if it’s been a long time apart. I love those two little feline faces staring through the window. How cute! I agree with you on the quiet and stillness. I need more of that in my life. 🙂

  • How cool that you and Jeff have the porch back. It’s like a special, rediscovered space! 🙂

As always, I love your grateful things. I think the homecoming kisses, fall colors and your close relationship with your mom are my faves. All the pics are great, but the cat one totally made me smile. Those expressoions!

Have a great weekend, Lindsay. Yay for petsitting adventures!

  • That’s awesome that you have a cleaned off porch to hang out in. Way to go Jeff! I also talk to my mom multiple times a day. Those kitties are so cute! Hope you have a lovely weekend!

  • I love your animals and the ones you look after! The kitties look gorgeous! 😀

I feel like homecoming kisses can turn around any day. I know for me I could have had the most stressful, trying day imaginable, and the second I walk through the door and am greeted by the pups it all melts away instantly!

  • We are sort of getting fall colours now. It’s getting super chilly too. I feel it in my arthritis *I said in my grandma voice*
Speaking of grandma – I hope that your sciatica is feeling better.
Puppy dog kisses make pain feel better by the way. That’s why I have Champ – Shawn bought Champ for me after I destroyed my spine 😉 He was my companion. Now I’m his seeing eye human. We take care of each other LOL.

  • I hope you get to enjoy them even if it is brief. It’ll be interesting to see how winter shapes up considering how odd last years was.
Hope you’re having a great week hun. 🙂

  • As always, thank you my friend.:) My patio is perfect for a quiet read and a coffee. It is, once again a really nice, uncluttered space.
I hope your week has been good to you my dear. xo

  • Morning sweetie,
Likewise; I’d be lost without my mom, truly. I’m very fortunate of the relationship I do have with her as I know some don’t have that privilege. Same with dads, I always envy others because I don’t have mine and it makes me sad when people fight with their parents or don’t even have a relationship at all with one of their parents, likely over something trivial or silly, you know?

I take what I can get with jeff. Some days/weeks he’s more helpful than others and other days I’m resenting him because I’m doing all the things, so when he does do shit, I’m a happy lady. 🙂

I can the garbage outside for two seconds and I get such a happy welcome coming back in the door, there’s really not many better things in life than your dog being over the top you’re HOME and pretty please scratch my bum for me, mum. Hehe!

You should’ve seen the other chihuahua that I didn’t get a picture of. He was 10 weeks old and the cutest little bugger ever. He was running all over the place all afternoon and evening, you should’ve seen him when he finally crashed. 🙂 Gosh I love puppies.

  • Hey Lauren,
I’m so fortunate (and sounds like you are, too) to have such an awesome mom; I don’t know what I’d do without her, honestly.

Three day long weekends are the best. That’ll be it now until Christmas. Womp womp! Lol! I hope the leaves around your area are starting to get more colorful and pretty. 🙂

  • Hey sweet cheeks,
Better late than never, as the saying goes. LOL! How are you my friend?
That one kitty that’s chirping me off is a chatty one. She’s slightly smaller than her sister but I’ve seen her go, she can be quite the bully. And she talks, letting you know she’s needy. Lol! They’re absolutely adorable and I just love seeing them every single day.

I read your momma came over and went through your closet with you. That’s so nice of her. It’s really such a wonderful thing to have such a good relationship with our moms. It’s something I cherish and am so grateful for.

I hope your week has been good my love. Xo

  • It’s my favorite part of the day – the homecoming – kisses and such happy tails. It really is the best. Aren’t Stella and Bella just adorable? They’re such pretty mommas and chatty, too. 😉

Thanks so much for always stopping by my friend. xo

  • It’s so nice and uncluttered on the patio now. We had such clunky furniture that was getting really ghetto looking, so the change is nice. 🙂
I know you have a close relationship with your momma too, you’ve mentioned that to me and I love others who have the same love and gratitude for their parents. 🙂

Hope your week has been good to you dear. xo

  • Aw thanks love. 🙂 I’m hoping to get the pet sitting post up today. Soooo many pictures from last weekend!!

  • I feel the EXACT same way. I can be having the worst, most god awful day and they can always turn it around and make me smile. It all fades away with my furry friends closeby. 🙂

  • Hey girl,
There’s still a lot of green up here too, but last week driving around to pet visits, Ive really noticed the colors have started to change, even in the last week. It’s a pretty time of year but I always dread what’s coming. Eek!

Thanks momma. I’m off to the physio tomorrow and I’m hoping to be leaving there beat up and hurting, but in a good way. I just need to find out for sure what exactly is going on so that i can figure out to make this better. The last week has been worse than it ever has though… I’m stretching a ton and rolling on my painful lacrosse ball like it’s my full time job. Oh the joys of getting old Kim, it’s fucking great. Lol!!

Awww you and Champ are bosom buddies. No wonder you love him so, he’s been your constant since you hurt yourself. That’s beautiful that he’s there for you and you, him. That’s love right there. 🙂

Hope you’re doing okay this week love. xoxoxo

  • Hey Kevin,

I’ve been so busy this week or I would’ve posted my pet sitting post already. So many cats last weekend, you would’ve loved it!! 🙂

I have to mail out your package yet; thanks for emailing me my friend and I hope Tracey likes it. It’s just something small. 🙂

  • Thank you! You too XXXOOO
