Pet Sitting Adventures – August Edition
Hello my friends and welcome. It has been eight weeks since I last checked in. Last weekend was my weekend to work and it was pretty decent, it wasn’t crazy by any stretch. So here’s the deal for any new readers here. Pet sitting is my part-time, fun “job”. I work one weekend a month, every four weeks (and sometimes more often, if it is needed and I am available) and have been doing so for the last five years. It was a job that I just happen to stumble upon I guess at the right time and I feel so blessed to be able to do what I do. I get to spend time with animals and anyone that knows me well will tell you that my heart is with four-legged creatures; I am often saying that I prefer animals over people, but that’s just me. There’s just something so special that I cannot put into words about how I feel when I’m around animals. What can I say? I am animal mad in every sense of the word. I physically cannot walk past a dog in the street without loving on it and I’ve been known to on many occasions to stop the car and get out to ask to pet your dog. Yes, I am THAT person. And, FUNNILY, despite being allergic to cats, I still cannot resist a sweet, fluffy purring love. It’s crazy, but it’s true and I love every second of it. If you want to check out another pet post, check out another fun post, check out things I’ve learned over the last five years of pet sitting.
So let’s get to it, shall we?
- Number of booked visits: 26 visits in total, 4 on Friday night, 13 on Saturday and 9 on Sunday.
- Animals: Dogs, lots of cats, two chinchillas.
- Distance driven in weekend (Friday night at 6 pm to Sunday night at 10 pm): 209 kilometers
- Weather: On Saturday, it felt characteristically like fall and on Sunday, despite some wind, it felt like a spring day. It was actually quite nice and sunny.
Once again, it is a photo heavy post so if you’re not into that kind of thing or you’re worried about me hogging your bandwidth, you should click away in 5…..4…..3…. 2…… 1.
Saturday & Sunday
Sweet little Baxter <3
The photo on the left is Tuck, a Norwich Terrier. One year ago, on the right, is Pip.
Happy/sleepy Baxter after a walk. 🙂
Meanwhile, Saturday night my leg was feeling pretty bad and I was having numbness issues like you wouldn’t believe, so I pulled out the tens machine and worked my leg.
Oh, Baxter. LOL
Aren’t the tabby’s just beautiful?
These are the two tabby’s I’ve been visiting daily since August. They’re just the sweetest cats.
Shade, one of the two chinchilla’s we regularly look after. This guy is cute, he’ll take raisins right from your hand. 🙂
Well that’s it for now. I hope you enjoy the pet pictures as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
