What’s up, Weekend? {10/27} 26

What's up weekend?

Happy Friday and Welcome to the ‘What’s up, Weekend?’ Friday Link Up!

Welcome to the Happy Friday link-up that Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog, Beth from The Beth Next Door and I host call, ‘What’s up, Weekend?’

For three years now, Fridays have always been (and always will be) a place where I reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week. To expand upon that, this link-up is now open to any post that relates to happy things, happy lists, gratitude lists, faves of the week or it could also be your practice to greet the weekend with a bang/open arms. Whatever your choice is, have fun with it. But please remember that any links that are just simply “dumped” or if your blog post does not mesh with our theme, it will be deleted.

For me personally, sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that have made me grateful or appreciative during the week. We live in a world full of conflict, disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – you name it. Reflecting on the positive, I personally find, makes me more mindful, gracious and appreciative of all things, big and small.

You can be having the worst of weeks but I always, always manage to find things to be happy or grateful for. So, I hope writing out your lists makes you happy, too!

What's up, Wednesday?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

Grateful and Happy things of the Week:

  • Getting into to see my physiotherapist twice in the last week has been my saving grace.  Holy hannah though, my body is a mess right night.  My hips were out of alignment, which was causing pressure in my hip and L1-L3 vertebrae, which was putting pressure on my femoral nerve.  I’ve been told to rest for ten days but that has been extended to 14 days, which makes for a sad Lindsay.  LOL!  But if all this helps me out in the long run, I’ll do it.
  • The stars and fresh air up north.
  • The colours of fall and exploring Screaming Heads last Saturday with Jeff.  More on that soon.
  • A Dog’s Purpose.  I realize a dog nearly drown in the filming of the movie, but it’s actually a pretty cute movie and I’m not going to lie, I cried a little.
  • The picturesque drive home from up north.
  • I’m grateful my mom is okay after a fall she had last weekend.
  • Working from home on Monday.
  • My e-stim, foam roller and lacrosse ball have all been my best friends in the last week.  I’m also getting a massage on Saturday morning that I am very much looking forward to.
  • Cuddle time on the couch with the boys before they went over to my mom’s house.

  • I’m still in love with these quotes from Steph’s blog of the women’s conference she went to earlier this month:

“If you meet someone and they feel you are too much for them, they are right. You do not dim your light for someone else’s.” – Carla Harris

and

“The names you give people and things matter. Words are power.” – Shonda Rimes

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

This weekend I am not doing much at all on the account that I’m a gimp.  LOL.  I’ve got to get some cleaning around our place done (badly), I’ve got a massage on Saturday morning to get some of the knots that have formed in my back this week (that are excruciating!!), we may end up visiting our two nieces, Katie and Krysten and beyond that? Who knows.  But I plan on being as lazy as possible.  🙂

What about YOU? What do you have planned for this weekend?

Have a great weekend my friends! 🙂

  • Hey sweets,
I’m doing a bit better and my nerve pain is receding up my leg towards the hip now, which apparently a good thing. I’ll get there, slow and steady wins the race.
My mom is doing fine and I’m so glad she’s okay. She really could’ve done a number on herself and broken a hip or something.
We’ve yet to get snow here, I really can’t believe it. I’m heading up north again this weekend, which I can bet we may see some snow up there.
I hope your week has been good to you my dear. It’s almost the weekend!! xoxo

  • I am too. She’s almost all healed now, thankfully.

  • Do it! Have you ever had cupping before? I’m getting my first session Monday.

  • I wish I could be lazIER, my dear. I feel like a bump on a log but I’m managing okay, considering.
I’m so glad my mom is okay too. She’s almost all healed, thankfully.

  • I’m definitely chilling out versus the old, go balls to the wall Lindsay. I’ve been spinning this week and feeling good. The nerve pain is receding up the leg, which is apparently a good thing. I’m learning to slow down, definitely being more mindful of my body and how it’s feeling.
Ugh my mom had a doozy fall and it’s a miracle she didn’t break anything, but the scrapes were pretty bad. 🙁 She’s healed up nicely this week, thankfully.
    It’s almost FriYAY again. 🙂

  • Thanks girl, I am too. She’s healed up pretty good this week, thankfully.

  • Hey sweetie,
Yeah moms doing better this week. Such a doozy fall, it’s a miracle she didn’t break anything, seriously!!
So I’ve been spinning this week… and feeling okay. But OMFG I need to get back but I’m taking deep breaths and being patient as possible. Lol!
I’m heading up north this weekend, again. I’ll try to get some pics of the stars; they’re incredible. 🙂

  • Thanks girl, I know, not cool she fell. And it was so stupid, she tripped on the bed?! And you’re the first person I’ve told, she had been drinking. She never gets like that, and she really could’ve hurt herself you know?! She’s fit and all but damn, she’s gonna be 70 in December!!
I really really enjoyed that movie. 🙂

  • Thanks hun, I’m glad she didn’t break anything you know? She’s going to be 70 next month and I can’t have her breaking her hip or neck for crying out loud.
Did you get a massage yet or book one? I had one last Saturday and I go again next Monday. 🙂

  • Hey girl. Thanks for your kind words. My mom has healed up for the most part this week, thankfully.
I forbid a massage and am having another next Monday. 🙂
I hope your week has been good my dear. xo

  • Yeah, I know. Where she fell, she could’ve easily broke her neck or hip for crying out loud.
When you see the movie, there are tears but it’s hesrtwarming, not a depressing movie if you know what I mean? Once you see it, you’ll know what I mean. Having seen it, I love the notion of my dogs being reincarnated through other pets down the road. 🙂 I’ve said too much. Lol!!

  • Monthly?! Good for you girl! That’s awesome. I need to do that way more often. Me getting some cupping next week that I’m looking forward to. Have you ever had it?
My mom is doing a lot better this week, thanks hun. 🙂

  • Thanks girl, my mom has healed up alot this week, but damn she could’ve really hurt herself bad, worse!

My massage was nice and I’m getting another next Monday, along with cupping. Have you ever had that?
