What’s up, Weekend? {11/10} 22

What's up, weekend?

Happy Friday and Welcome to the ‘What’s up, Weekend?’ Friday Link Up!

Welcome to the Happy Friday link-up that Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog, Beth from The Beth Next Door and I host call, ‘What’s up, Weekend?’

For three years now, Fridays have always been (and always will be) a place where I reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week. To expand upon that, this link-up is now open to any post that relates to happy things, happy lists, gratitude lists, faves of the week or it could also be your practice to greet the weekend with a bang/open arms. Whatever your choice is, have fun with it. But please remember that any links that are just simply “dumped” or if your blog post does not mesh with our theme, it will be deleted.

For me personally, sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that have made me grateful or appreciative during the week. We live in a world full of conflict, disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – you name it. Reflecting on the positive, I personally find, makes me more mindful, gracious and appreciative of all things, big and small.

You can be having the worst of weeks but I always, always manage to find things to be happy or grateful for. So, I hope writing out your lists makes you happy, too!

What's up, Wednesday?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

Grateful and Happy things of the Week:

  • Taking our time enjoying the drive the drive up north last weekend. Good thing we did – winter arrived last night and we now have snow. LOL!
  • Watching movies and playing cards with Jeff. And losing. lol!
  • Our friend Dina stopping by for a visit to see us. Now that she’s moved 30 minutes, we obviously don’t see her as much.
  • Discovering we had another night at home before heading to my moms to house sit for a week.
  • Seeing just how happy Jeff was to see the dogs. It’s so cute seeing your man love on his dogs.
  • Seeing the dogs after five long nights away from them.
  • Seeing a man in a full suit just dancing his heart out in the middle of a downtown street like he had no cares in the world.  It made me smile HUGE. 🙂
  • Going to bed early.
  • Meeting with retired colleagues.

I’m just going to go ahead and leave these two quotes up, again, because I love them so much. These quotes are taken from Steph’s blog of the women’s conference she went to earlier in October

“If you meet someone and they feel you are too much for them, they are right. You do not dim your light for someone else’s.” – Carla Harris

“The names you give people and things matter. Words are power.” – Shonda Rimes

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

Well, today is my 34th birthday and I will be celebrating low-key tonight with Jeff.  Otherwise, this weekend I am pet sitting, however the schedule is pretty light with only 17 visits all weekend.  I guess this is the calm before the holiday season.  I cannot believe how close Christmas is, it’s insane.  I’m list making and already trying to think of gift ideas.

What about YOU? What do you have planned for this weekend?Have a great weekend my friends! 🙂

Sounds like you had a great week. Always sad when friends move away – it makes visits that much more special.
Enjoy your snow! Hope to see pics 🙂
The dogs must have been thrilled to see you after 5 days – you must have gotten a lovely welcome back.
    Have a great Friday further!

  • Your gratitude list made me smile wide. Also don’t you love when you see someone dancing or doing something unexpected in the middle of the day? ! It’s such a lovely feeling 🙂

IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY!! What are you doing to celebrate? Anything exciting? I can’t believe you guys have snow already! Though it was tit-freezing outside this morning when I had to leave and I didn’t think I was going to make it, lol. No me gusta. I literally was just thinking about the warm fuzzy pajamas I have and how much I want to put them on right now, lol.

Also I am a firm believer that the way a man treats animals is indicative of the kind of person he is <3 So glad you have found one of the good ones 🙂 XOXO and love you so much, sweet friend!

Happy Birthday!!! Low-key celebrating is a nice idea. I hope you have a great weekend.

I love seeing people excited about seeing their pets; it’s just adorable.

And I love that story of the man downtown just dancing it out! What a way to live, right? 🙂

It’s insane that Christmas is so soon!! I’m currently buying some gifts and trying to figure out others.

  • These are terrific, Lindsay! Especially then ones about Jeff being so happy to see the dogs, and the man in the suit dancing! I hope you had a super wonderful birthday, my friend. 🙂

My most thankful thing this week is time with family and friends. I am in L.A. on business, and got together with some dear friends yesterday, and a bunch of my family last night. 🙂

  • Happy Birthday! Hope you had a great day!

I completely agree – there is just something about watching your man with the dogs that brings a smile every single time. Indiana is completely a daddy’s boy and actually cries and shakes when Jano pulls into the driveway. I love watching the way they interact with each other each day when he comes through the door!

Oh anytime we’re away from the dogs, it’s a glorious reunion. 😉

  • Hey girl!
The random dude dancing was so awesome. I’m sure it made so many peoples’ day that much brighter.

I didn’t do too much last weekend since I worked, but Jeff made me dinner and I had the night off from pet visits, which was nice.

Our snow is all but gone but dammit if it’s not frigid, especially on the hands! Ugh!! I hate the cold, Charlotte!! Lol!

  • Snow already! But it’s all but gone today, it’s just damn chilly now. Someday I’ll move where it’s permanantly warm all year round. I can’t handle winters man, you’d think they way I react I was an island baby. Lol!

Thank you so much for the kind birthday wishes, Sanch! xxoo

  • Thank you so much Lisa! 🙂

  • Thank you so much my sweet friend. 🙂

Your getting together with family and friends sounded amazing. I hope you had a great time and I’m sure you had somebody really nice weather, which is a departure to the chill we’re feeling on the east coast. lol!

  • That is such a sweet mental picture. They have their own ways of loving on them eh, and the animals have their special ways of loving on them too. It just melts my heart when I see how soft Jeff can be with them. 🙂

  • Totally agree! We all need to let loose a bit more and just let go. BE. 🙂
