What’s up, Weekend? {11/17} 22

What's up, weekend?

Happy Friday and Welcome to the ‘What’s up, Weekend?’ Friday Link Up!

Welcome to the Happy Friday link-up that Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog, Beth from The Beth Next Door and I host call, ‘What’s up, Weekend?’

For three years now, Fridays have always been (and always will be) a place where I reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week. To expand upon that, this link-up is now open to any post that relates to happy things, happy lists, gratitude lists, faves of the week or it could also be your practice to greet the weekend with a bang/open arms. Whatever your choice is, have fun with it. But please remember that any links that are just simply “dumped” or if your blog post does not mesh with our theme, it will be deleted.

For me personally, sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that have made me grateful or appreciative during the week. We live in a world full of conflict, disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – you name it. Reflecting on the positive, I personally find, makes me more mindful, gracious and appreciative of all things, big and small.

You can be having the worst of weeks but I always, always manage to find things to be happy or grateful for. So, I hope writing out your lists makes you happy, too!

What's up, Wednesday?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

Grateful and Happy things of the Week:

  • All of the birthday wishes that I received that Friday and throughout the weekend.  Thank you all so much. 🙂 I am so grateful and my heart is so full.
  • Birthday gifts that Jeff got me: a Garmin smart watch that I LOVE!  He also had a beautiful bouquet of flowers sent to my work, which was something he’s never done in the fifteen years we’ve been together.  It was so thoughtful and definitely a nice surprise. 🙂

Birthday flowers

  • Snuggles on a cold, wintery (yes I said winter) mornings.
  • Sharing apples with the boys. 🙂
  • Having an easygoing weekend of pet visits.
  • Getting back home to our place after house/dog sitting over at my mom’s for a week.
  • Jeff baking a key lime cheesecake for a charity bake sale at my work.  I’m so proud of him and his love of baking.
  • Attending a doggy social/happy/yappy hour at a local brewery with my mom.  It was put on by my boss’ pet sitting compant and the brewery and is such a fun of event where you can mingle with your four-legged friends. 🙂

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

I am going away for a girls weekend up in a skiing town and heading to the spa; I’m very much looking forward to it.  Jeff is heading up north to target shoot and my momma has the pups.

What about YOU? What do you have planned for this weekend?  Have a great weekend my friends! 🙂

I didn’t know that Jeff was a baker! That’s amazing! Does he make all the baked goods for holidays and family get together?! I find it so therapeutic to spend hours in the kitchen baking and cooking.

Want to know more about your Garmin! I have the Fitbit and it’s a love/hate relationship, lol.

Xoxo and sending sunshine (go away, cold weather!) vibes your way 🙂

Oh, what Garmin watch did you get??? I have a Garmin Forerunner 235 and it’s the apple of my eye LOL I love it so much (it’s a littl ridiculous!).

  • I’m so behind in comments due to my phone issues last weekend, sorry love!
The doggy social was a lot of fun — I think my boss has one planned for early December so I think my mom and I will go again. Like I need an excuse to find dogs to make friends with. Lol!
Hope you had a great weekend hun. xoxo

  • Thank you my dear. <3 I hope you had an awesome birthday yourself. 🙂

  • Thanks again Penny. 🙂

  • I have tiny wrists so a lot of the smart watches look silly on me. I got the Garmin Vivosmart hr+ and I love it. 🙂
Thanks so much sweetie, I had such a great day and weekend. 🙂 xoxo

  • Thanks babe! I know right? I’m e-stimming my butt as I write this. Slowlllllly I’m getting better but it’s taking a long time, which is frustrating, and patience is not my forte. Lol!

Omg, move in with me. Jeff made two cheesecakes this weekend for a party. No more!!!! Lol
    Love you babe. xo

  • I thought so, too. It was touching. 🙂
My spa weekend away was amazing; so much fun and a nice getaway from the everyday. 🙂

  • The forerunner looks nice! It’s meant for running, with split times and all that Jazz, right? I got the vivosmart hr+. I have tiny wrists and some of these watches looked humongous on me and totally a pain, ie I could catch the watch on everything. My only beef is that I never wear my nice watches now. Lol!

  • Jeff is very thoughtful when he wants to be. 🙂
My momma and I are going to another dog social in two weeks, I can’t wait. 🙂
I hope you had a nice long weekend/thanksgiving love. xo

  • Thank you so much again my friend. xo

  • Hey love,
It was so sweet of Jeff. I wish he’d be that thoughtful all year round but I’ll take what I can get. 🙂

Jeff’s new skill is something new, hes always enjoyed I think but we got an instant pot and he found out you can make cheesecakes in them. But having said that, last year, we made all of his mom’s Christmas treats because she couldn’t, and I’m sure we’ll continue that in her memory, whether we’re doing something special or not. I think this year we’re having it at Jeff’s brothers house.

I had a Fitbit a few years ago but it just stopped working and I never replaced it. I tested one out for a couple of weeks for a friend to review and it really made me want to get another one. I’m really liking the Garming though. It’s the vivosmart hr+. 🙂

Better cut this short. I’m getting glares from Mr. Crustypants. Christ I want to go live on an island by myself for a year. So tired of everyone being offended or complete dicks to me for no reason.

    Love you sweets. xo

  • Sending you much <3 <3 <3 and sunshine my sweet friend.

Also, I had no idea you could make dessert in an instant pot. WUT. I have a crockpot on my Christmas list this year. Is that the same thing? I feel like I've been good all year so fingers crossed Santa pulls through, lol.

And the Fitbit–it's a love/hate thing, really. I feel naked without it and I love that it keeps me accountable, but I feel like it's not really accurate and the social aspect of it kind of drives me batty (i.e., everyone can see I was a lazy a** today, lol).

  • Thank you sweetie. <3

Um yeah, you can make just about freaking everything in the Instant Pot. It shaves off time and it’s meant to eliminate all these appliances on the counter and having x number of pots and pans on the go. Jeff uses it more than I, which I love because it means he’s cooking and it’s one less thing I have to stress about.

I liked the social but of the Fitbit too, but ultimately I don’t care what others think or are doing. With the Garmin, I think I’m connected to Map My Ride so Jeff, his brother and his dad get notifications daily when I’m at the gym, otherwise I’m bothering no one. But I love tracking my heart rate. I max out around 150-160 in spinning but those HIIT classes I did before I broke myself, those I would hit 180; no wonder I feel like my heart is going to beat out of my chest.

I hope you have a gentle rise to your morning, lovey. xoxox
