What's up, weekend?

Happy Friday and Welcome to the What’s up, Weekend? Friday Link Up!

Happy 2018 and  WELCOME to the Happy Friday link-up that Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog, Beth from The Beth Next Door and I host call, ‘What’s up, Weekend?’

For well over three years now, Fridays have always been (and always will be) a place where I reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week. To expand upon that, this link-up is now open to any post that relates to happy things, happy lists, gratitude lists, faves of the week or it could also be your practice to greet the weekend with a bang/open arms. Whatever your choice is, have fun with it. But please remember that any links that are just simply “dumped” or if your blog post does not mesh with our theme, it will be deleted.

For me personally, sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that have made me grateful or appreciative during the week. We live in a world full of conflict, disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – you name it. Reflecting on the positive, I personally find, makes me more mindful and appreciative of all things, big and small.

You can be having the worst of weeks but I somehow always manage to find things to be happy or grateful for. So I hope writing out your lists makes you happy, too!

What's up, Weekend?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

Grateful and Happy things of the Week:

  • Working from home last Friday, thus turning my holiday into a 10-day vacation. #Genius
  • Reorganizing and cleaning out my closet.  Just reorganizing everything makes it feel so refreshed.
  • Scoring $235 worth of clothes for $35.  Thank you gift card and coupons! 🙂
  • Spending New Years Eve with our friends Tara and Erik.
  • Running into my friend at the gym after not having seen her in at least four months.
  • Not having any pain or discomfort anymore when doing squats and lunges at the gym this week.
  • Having tea with my mom.
  • Reminiscing with a co-worker about animals we’ve cared for over the last five years that have passed away.  I have so much love and gratitude for this part time “job” of mine.
  • Making arrangements with a co-worker to house/pet sit for her in April while she goes to the Dominican Republic.

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

I have a whopping 37 pet visits this weekend, with 19 on Saturday alone (it was 21…), so it should keep me busy and out of trouble. 🙂   Stay tuned for a pet sitting post next week!

Have a great weekend! 🙂

What a great list today! I just went through a closet organization and it does make me feel so good to step in there and have things looking good.

  • We did closet organizing too and sold some stuff to consignment shops! What a great deal you got on new clothes! Discounts are THE best. I’m glad you had a fun New Years with your friends! And hope all those pet visits go well – will there be pictures?? Please? LOL. Love you lady!

  • You’re making me feel like a slacker! I need to do some serious decluttering! On the other hand….I also have gift cards to use – LOL!

  • I always loved making the holiday weekends extra long by taking my vacation days before and after. Also, great job on getting all those clothes! I did a little gift card shopping and it’s always a great feeling getting some new things without having to shell out of my own pocket. 🙂

My work place has a work-from-home policy but I rarely take advantage of it… must find out how to change that because every once in a while it’s nice to not leave the house 🙂 (well, we don’t get snow days, so I usually don’t have a reason to stay home…)
So happy to hear your pain is gone when you work out… that’s a WIN!!!

  • Omg you’re going to see a lot of pets this weekend! Can’t wait to see the update and pics 🙂 I have to imagine it must be difficult because you get so close to many. At least you can always remember that those pets were lovingly cared for, ya know? <3

You had an incredible week and yay you for working from home that extra day to extend the holiday 🙂 makes a huge difference! I’ve started sorting and going through the closet and getting rid of some stuff (Bryan just got rid of 40+ shirts!). I’m even selling stuff that’s pretty new in local Facebook groups for a bit of extra $$. It helps!

I’m so glad to read you are feeling better and hope you can take it easy this weekend and that you stay warm as much as possible! Xoxo

  • That is so awesome that you’re not experiencing pain anymore! And hooray for spending time with friends. Good luck this weekend….that sounds like a LOT of visits!

  • Sounds like you scored a great deal on some new clothes!

  • A 10 day vacation is genius – so glad you could work from home.
I also need to do some serious decluttering and organising – I know that refreshed feeling – it is awesome!
So glad to hear you didn’t have pain at the gym – you must have been so happy!
That part-time job of yours sounds so amazing. Good luck with all the visits this weekend 🙂

  • That’s amazing you can work from home. Nice that you had a good break. And there was no pain at the gym. Enjoy seeing all the little furballs this weekend!

  • It was so great to read your list of gratitude. This is something I really need to work on this. Thank you for the reminder! Happy New Year!

  • As always, I enjoyed your list of grateful things, Lindsay. How excellent that you had a 10 day vacation. Totally brilliant. 🙂

I worked from home of Thursday and Friday, because of the weather. What a treat not to have to slog through it when it’s frightful outside. After having a combination of holidays, vacation days and weekends from 12/22-1/2, I was in the office for just two days before we got that winter cyclone bomb thing here. Maybe this coming week, I’ll actually be IN the office all five days. LOL.

Super happy that you’re feeling no more pain when you do squats and lunges!
