What's up, weekend?

Happy Friday and Welcome to the What’s up, Weekend? Friday Link Up!

WELCOME to the Happy Friday link-up that Charlotte, from My Pixie Blog, Beth from Coffee until Cocktails and I host call, ‘What’s up, Weekend?’

For well over three years now, Fridays have always been (and always will be) a place where I reflect on the happy and grateful things in our lives, but more specifically from the last week. To expand upon that, this link-up is now open to any post that relates to happy things, happy lists, gratitude lists, faves of the week or it could also be your practice to greet the weekend with a bang/open arms. Whatever your choice is, have fun with it. But please remember that any links that are just simply “dumped” or if your blog post does not mesh with our theme, it will be deleted.

For me personally, sometimes all it takes are gentle reminders of things that have made me grateful or appreciative during the week. We live in a world full of conflict, disaster, chaos, poverty, famine, and tragedy – you name it. Reflecting on the positive, I personally find, makes me more mindful and appreciative of all things, big and small.

You can be having the worst of weeks but I somehow always manage to find things to be happy or grateful for. So I hope writing out your lists makes you happy, too!

What's up, Weekend?

**When adding your blog post link, please remember that this is not a link dump; if it is not an appropriate link, it will be deleted.**

Grateful and Happy things of the Week:

  • Last weekend was so darn cold and it made me grateful for warm clothes, a roof over my head, heat and hot water.
  • Meeting so many new four-legged friends last weekend pet sitting.  Stay tuned for a pet sitting post this weekend.  I haven’t gotten around to sharing that yet.
  • Dog kisses.
  • Reminiscing about Jeff’s Mom.
  • I’m so grateful a friend reached out to me for some support when she needed it.  We have a mutual acquaintance of ours that is thick in the throes of addiction and it’s been hard for everyone involved.
  • Personal time off.  I took Monday and Tuesday off because I was exhausted from pet sitting last weekend.  It was so insanely busy!
  • Naps.
  • The Killing and Mindhunter.  Ob-sessed!
  • Osteopath adjustments.  They’re such awesomeness and I love my osteopath.  🙂

What are YOU happy or grateful for this week?

Saturday, I hope to get out for a lunch or dinner with Jeff and then on Sunday, I’m meeting up with some old co-workers from back in the day (I’m talking back from 18 years ago).  What about you, what are you up to this weekend?

Have a great one! 🙂

Want to hop in on the fun?

  • That is lovely that you could reminisce about Jeff’s Mom. It is always so sad to lose a loved one but talking about them keeps memories alive (I love to talk about the things my Gran did – makes it feel like she isn’t so far away).
Glad you could take some time off this week – 3 day weeks are great.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend 🙂

  • Naps and a hot shower top my gratitude list. Your pet sitting sounds eventful! I’ll be checking back for your post on those adventures. Have a great weekend, Lindsay 🙂

  • I’m glad you had a good week! I am grateful for warm clothes and a roof over my head on these cold days too. And I look forward to your pet sitting adventures because I love seeing all the fun animal posts! And hooray for personal time off! That is so important sometimes! Hope you have a good weekend my dear! XOXO

  • Loved reading your list today, hun. Also I’ve missed you like woah. I hope all is well with you and that you are taking good care of yourself. I’m sad to hear a mutual friend is in the throes of addiction—it’s so heartbreaking but having a circle of support is vital and I hope you continue to reach out and comfort one another—and that this person gets help.

Xoxo love you and take care of yourself this weekend. Can’t wait to see your pet photos!

  • Oh warmth of anything right about now is my jam. I live on my heating pad and smooches from my pooch.
I’m sorry to hear about your friend but so grateful that she had you to lean on. Even more so, for her bravery to reach out. That takes a lot of moxy. I hope that she’s ok.
And I’m proud of you for taking time off. Self care is incredibly important.
    Have a wonderful weekend xoxox

I hope you have a great weekend! I don’t have too much going on. I had a couple plans but the weather is kind of bad so those were canceled. Good for you for taking some days off when you needed it!!

  • The Killing was sooooooo good. I haven’t seen the other, so I’ll have to check it out. We also had super freezing temps last week, and then it warmed up for a day, and now back to cold. Yuck. Glad you got some rest at the beginning of the week. That sounded like a ton of visits. Enjoy your weekend! XXXOOO

  • San

    Sounds like a good week.
I am glad you were able to help your friend… it’s those little acts of kindness that go a long way!

  • Naps are great! The Killing is so awesome! I binge-watched it a few years ago.

  • Good thankful things, as always, Lindsay! I can only imagine how tired you were after last weekend. That cold PLUS having so many pet sitting appointments? I feel exhausted just thinking about it. 🙂

Hope you had an awesome time with your old co-workers.How cool that you met up with them!
